My thoughts exactly. I only paid $80 brand new from the dealer.

I use a Tackform mount on the Guzzi, those things are frickin' solid. I think I can pick up my bike with it if I ever tipped it.

The ball mounts to the outer lip of the air vent trim with a metal plate tightened with allen screws. Then the arm and clamp are hand tightened on to the ball is whatever position you prefer. Thing is rock solid!

Interesting, did they give you a replacement or just buy it back? I had all sorts of issues with my 2017....Anyways. VW took damn good care of me and I couldn't be happier. They put me in an 18' Autobahn for no extra money. Thread attached.

I'll definitely provide some feedback once I get some miles on them, probably won't be in a week though... Still working from home so I only put ~100 miles on per week. I consider it a Covid silver lining! Until then, check this out for a more in-depth review: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/new-pirelli-scorpion-a-t-plus-installed.547094/

I lucked out and got them installed within 4 hours of getting them, so below are some grainy nighttime pictures from a few minutes ago. I'll get some decent pictures as soon as I get a chance - hell, might even wash the mud and grime off the truck first!
As for delivery drivers, most of them have been very good recently! Which is all the more surprising since they're all so slammed with work nowadays.

I had Pirellis on my old STI and currently have them on my wife's Forester XT - both were great! These had fantastic reviews on TireRack and the price was even better, so I figured they should be worth a shot. I ended up getting them from Discount Tire Direct since they were backordered on TireRack. I lucked out because DTD had an instant $100 off discount and free shipping, so that paid for the mount and balance!

I'm loving the look of this setup! Hopefully the sleight weight increase and extra inch of height doesn't negatively affect the ride too badly. Might be the perfect time for some throttle enhancement. :spending: It never ends...

    20210312_233617.jpg
The 'stance' of these wheels is spot-on, IMO. Just a tiny bit of sidewall poke, not even any tread visible beyond the fenders. Still will probably shower the doors with rocks since I took the mudflaps off.

I went through the BBB, and while time consuming, they required VW to buy it back. I had the autobahn and I do miss the turning hid projectors.

Over, IMO, just doesn’t look seamless. Not sure where you heard from but I’ve never seen it mentioned nor have I ever experienced this (although I never actively searched for it) . I mean looking at it ina design perspective- it’s inside the channel and water from roof to door will go over the channels down onto the window no different than flashing and drip edge on the roof- it’s under the shingles and water goes right over. I just can’t see the physics of how the water can go down then up and around the closed window and seals (or even a cracked window. Now if your talking about when it’s raining/driving and the window is cracked lower than the channel the spray force may but obviously it won’t stop water if your window is lower than the channels.

I have in channel, my only complaint is the extra water that gets into the door. I know doors drain and are designed to accept some water so really neglible complaint I guess. Hasn't bothered me enough to change or remove them

I assumed it was from (damn now I can’t remember the name). Who can help me? It’s the v2 of the original full diameter vent mount and ram balls.
    Looks like it got ripped
    023EEA9B-C2B2-4D2F-9A9B-E6BB1F065977.jpg

But wouldn’t that only happen if the window was lower than the channel? Ive seen a Couple drops on the door sill but never thought it was a cause from the in channels

I mean inside the door itself rather than in the cab. The visor interrupts the clean seal between the side window seals and the glass when the windows are all the way up. Not a huge difference but it is an opening to let water drain through your door.

No tool needed. I used a hair dryer to war my mirror a bit because it was sub freezing in the garage. Tilted the mirror up and then grabbed the bottom of the OEM mirror with my hands and pried it out/up. Easy.
