What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Figured I’d post this here in case y’all haven’t seen this awesome mod yet. @lapoltba makes a completely plug and play harness to allow for 2 wheel drive low range. Anyone with the 6MT has probably had to deal with the ridiculously tall reverse gear while backing a trailer or reversing up an incline. Plus rear locker still functions for you Offroad and Pro Bros in 2wd low. Any questions should be answered from this thread:

2021 Grill swap on my 2017 limited. Lexus LED fogs and SR5 Bezels

 

Installed a supercharger over the weekend. I am very happy with the results so far.

 

That was an easy dash cam install. Garmin 46 DashCam. It also plugs into rear view mirror with an adapter.

I live in Harrison County. Just about in the north central part of the state. This is the first tonneau style cover I have had on a truck. I had cab high shells on 3 of my trucks. a 71 F100, a 77 F150, and a 91 Isuzu. They were all metal caps. Bought all trucks new. My Tacoma's were a 2007, 2013, and my 2020 SR. Yes, my birthday was good. I woke up above ground, and so far I still am.....LOL

 

Got a case of wool wax and an application kit is spray,can trigger and a tube with some spray jets on it.... Goin on ....on a nice hot day....

 

Like that fridge slide. How was the install? Bolt through the bed? Backer plate needed? See that you did a cutout on the bed mat.

Been thinking about a fridge slide for my Yeti 65. Between the bed mat and the cooler feet/weight, that thing is a PITA to “slide” in and out under the tonneau cover.

 

New wheels mounted up.

 

Super simple. Four SS hex bolts, just large enough to fit through the rack and into the case with just enough room for the nuts. Used two larger than average washers per bolt, and nylock nuts so they won’t vibrate loose. Laid the case on top of the racks exactly where I wanted it to sit, then went underneath the rack with a sharpie and marked straight lines along the bottom of the case through the slits in the racks then drilled the four holes where I wanted them along the marked lines. Worked out perfectly.

This case is temporary or I would’ve also added silicone around the bolts. I will when I mount the permanent case. I would’ve used carriage bolts but I couldn’t find any the right size at the time. I will when I mount the permanent case though.

Quick side bar on "bright" colored vehicles:

Several years ago, I went to a 9-1-1 training class. The trainer was a former dispatcher from the Jackson, Mississippi area. She kept some tapes that were obviously for training purposes. She plaid a tape of a bank robbery from the Jackson area. The get-away car was YELLOW Nissan Xterra. Suffice it to say, the police located the vehicle rather quickly.

Word to the wise: if you're gonna at least commit a major crime, do it in a vehicle that is rather inconspicuous.

Install was pretty easy. Bolts right through the bed. I didn't have to use a backer plate. I bought the Rough County 45L fridge/freezer. It's 17.5" tall, the slide adds another 1/2,", and I should have about 2" of space between the fridge and my tonneau cover.

 

Mounted the ditch lights (thank you @daleclough), tail-gate theft deterrent and checked the portable compressor. The Husky, your Home Depot $33 special, brought the tire from 19 to 30 lbs pressure in 2-3 minutes. Works for me and cheaper than a Vlair.

 

That looks awfully similar to what I did to my truck tonight... Except I went the K&N route!

Installed black sequential turn signals and 2021 pro tail lights.

 

Changed out my fog light bezels and stock fog lights for some Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro fog lights. The light output on these really compliment the Morimoto XB headlights.
