I’ve had it three years. I use it almost every day except the past year because of the pandemic I don’t drive anywhere. It is pretty decent, check out my build thread for a guide on rewiring the switch.

I have a diamond NMO dual band (2M/440) which has a lower wind profile than a firestik. I assume your running a cb so the pl-259 mount on the firestik might be a bit tight and the coax tough for 28 MHz to flex well, definitely need a low profile 90deg mount. ( I use a 19 inch mag mount for cb and it is almost as good as my FSB4 firestik was.) That I mounted bed rail off center to give decent reflection left and forward.

I think I’d go old school with the firestik. They are tough as nails, put it on a spring mount and just ignore the garage dragging sounds, or mount it lower as a cb may get a few miles but nothing like hams 50 no matter where the rf plane is. (Yes, I’m about to get flamed for saying it)

Got my Rough Country soft cover put on. Luckily, got mine put on before bad weather moved in earlier today.

I finally found time to install the OEM power tailgate lock. It was a moderately easy installation but still took me almost 3 hours due to taking my time and making sure that everything was neatly in place, nice and tight. Photo of my 2018 Tacoma Sport below.

I've had mine in for a couple thousand miles now. I don't notice any performance difference, but I do notice my wallet being thicker after only spending $25 and not $400.

I know what you mean. I was not satisfied with the RAM mounts that are out there so I engineered my own improved version. The final prototype should be done this week, then off to the paint shop for an inconspicuous coating of flat black paint. Patent pending of course.
