I grabbed the dimensions from another TW thread from user RCRcer (LINK), but the dimensions match the OEM part exactly which doesn't work for a flat piece of aluminum. The OEM part has a lip that bends down where it meets the tailgate. The aluminum will bind up on the bed when you shut the tailgate, so I took about a 1/4" off the top of the panel closest to the bed. In the drawing that is the bottom edge.

Speaking of the Redarc brake controller, tested it out on Saturday using an 18ft shop trailer. Worked like a champ and I love how it looks like it came with the truck.

I have one I use with either the Diamondback or he original Toyota cover without issues.

It rests about 1” off floor of bed.

knob is 1/4” from top of bed rail.

Hope this is what you seek.

Been working on my 3/4 rear seat delete... Cooler slides out on 30" sliders for access outside the passenger-side rear door., and otherwise can still be pulled out of the truck easily. Got a small bind somewhere around the mid point of the slide out, but it works. I'll get some better shots posted once I fix it and the weather cooperates.

Concur on the wires. Very short and very tight (that's what she said jokes disclaimer). The mirrors come with wire extensions for each one, which I personally found useful. I connected them and then wrapped the connection with a piece of electrical tape and installed the mirror.

Bunch of stuff bolted on, some cool, some not
I got a set of 5.29s in February and couldn't be happier. I'm taching around 2200 rpm at 70 on 285/70/17s but I live in Seattle and there's a ton of hills. Don't regret it in the least, my Taco was a dog after getting bigger tires.

Cargo bed lights installed. Just PULL those tail lights back with good easy pressure. The worst part is thinking "am I going to break a clip in there". Ten-minute job.

RSI Shell is a work in progress. Had I realized this was a knee killer, leg killer, hamstring killer I would have skipped this one. Still, a work in progress as my legs gave out. I work out in a boxing gym with a ton of core, but assembly is like holding a squat for eight hours.

I need to get some lights for mine. OEM (as always) is pricier than other options out there, but I feel undecided. What made you decide to go with OEM? Also, were the wires already there?

I got that exact same OEM bed lighting kit (p/n PT85735200) from my local Toyota dealer for $49.05+tax. Most 2020 and 2021 Tacomas are prewired for it - but I'm not sure about yours. It's very easy to see if yours has the OEM wiring, just pull either taillight and see if the harness circled below is there. If it's there, you're good to go for the OEM kit.

In fact, just check out that whole thread for more info: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/oem-led-bed-lighting-kit-2020.644777/

Of course there are other options for alternate purchased or DIY bed light setups. A quick search here or on Youtube has some really good examples.

Pedal Commander, trash in back seat, hvac gages for work.
So far I havnt done anything except install a girlfriend in the passenger seat. But im going to start modding my truck now. First thing I ordered was a pedal commander.. next is cold air intake, and changing my grill to flat black heavy duty grill from customcargrills.com. it will read WTFH4X because I am from the internet, and im a programmer. Then changing front and rear lights from clear to smoke gray, then changing bumpers to something heavy duty. Then either stereo or rims/tires/lift. Then figure out how im going to get in my truck using my knee cap full of damaged cartilage.

McGeorge Toyota was $50. Tip: Order oil filters, air filter, cabin filter. They do add a shipping charge, but my local dealer charges list prices.

Wiring harnesses and two lights in the box. They also added the eight-page printout for installation, nice touch.

Is that a cell repeater antenna? If so, how do you like it? How's the performance?

How much does the Safari interfere with the Squadron ditch light? My Squadrons are angled a bit more to the side I think (~45 degrees), and was curious if the Safari is high enough on the fender that it gets in the way of the light pattern. Hopefully it's not up over the surface of the hood right at that corner, but it's hard to tell.

For me, I think it's my internal OCD that makes me lean towards OEM, if the price difference isn't too bad. In this case, since my truck was pre-wired, I dont think there is an easier mod out there. It literally took me less than ten minutes for both lights.
