Many companies in Japan (like Toyota) use Kaizen. Continuous improvement. Some companies in the US have adopted this method. The company I work for adopted it 25+ years ago.

Ford adopted TQM in the early 1980s and first applied it to the construction of the Taurus. I don't know if they still use it. It was quite the rage in the US in the mid 1990s. I had a boss who insisted we used it, except when he decided to do something "Because I'm a Doctor..." At which point everyone stopped using it.

My son is a Six Sigma Black Belt and from his description, it's very similar to both Kaizen and TQM.

They definitely look way better than their pics of the tail lights. Also, when you watch their video, the turn signal lights look red, but they are actually yellow.

Your truck looks perfect! Is that some kind of wax job or coating you have on there?

Waited over 5 years to wear out my stock tires, still had some tread on them but waited long enough - for sale in the wheel and tire section if you want
Picked up some slightly used great condition Nitto Terra grapplers for $200. And some regular maintenance throttle body and MAFS cleaning.

How are members mounting this to their side rail in the bed? Also, what materials are they using?

I think @Cloaked point is that TQM attitude (total quality management) was rejected/ignored by Ford and GM so Deming took it to Japan which helped them turn their at-the-time shoddy Japanese cars into worldwide behemoths. TQM thinking can be applied to all manufacturing processes. Stepping off my professorial platform now

Took her out to grab some lunch. Don’t let the lack of snow fool you, I’ve left the studded Hakka’s on for a reason. We’re currently experiencing false spring.

Black Belt here. As you stated thought processes are applied to all manufacturing processes. I employ Six Sigma to every project that I am involved in. In fact, I can facilitate any lean process to any subject area and allow the team improve their processes. Okay, enough of the professional platform LOL. Cheers

    Six sigma rocks!

1980's I was working in semiconductors. PDP 11/44 with Fortran, so I could crunch process data to see trends. It worked! Before that is was blindly assemble and test. Once wafers were tested, it showed which should go to mil-spec devices (expensive ceramic package) and went to cheaper consumer-grade plastic packages. We have much better insight. I wasn't appreciated in San Jose. My employer was known to "grind employees up" work. 80 hour work weeks, just exhausted. No joy. No vacation for three years (gulp!). Too much work to be done. Yes, yields are up, profits are up, we are shipper more product (right wafers getting into the right package meant higher yields), but we need more! Well, I said screw it, took all my vacation in one lump (six weeks), and went bicycling in New Zealand! No cell phones those days.

A few months later was working in Germany. Robert Bosch GmbH in the IC facility. The first thing I noticed were wall charts of process flows up on the walls. Everyone in the company lived and breathed a lean process for Automotive Engineering.

Some years later, I was back in the states, landed in Texas at Motorola in 1993, and they had this big thing about "Six Sigma". I just smiled. What a crazy rodeo this has been.

Installed a @MESO Stealth PRO shift knob, along with KTJO 400W anytime plug and play mod and a rear 110v/USB-C/USB/volt meter and replaced the ETC button space with another couple USB’s.

When I drilled the shifter trim ring for the wires to pass through I flipped over a tape gun and used the handle to push the trim ring up. The handle of the tape gun protected the boot from the drill bit and all of the shavings went into it.

I pushed the e-brake boot down after this.

I put in the extended engine well Splash Guards that @Stoked4 sells here on TW. What an improvement in the coverage to keep water and mud from in the engine bay.

Left side OEM pulled and ready to install the replacement.

I know it’s off subject but thought I would share. I recently lifted my house about 60” thankfully the lift, tires and other things I plan to do on my Tacoma is much cheaper lol317073E5-BCD5-43DD-AE2F-C3DA4D59D981.jpg
