Here you go. $15 off at the moment. Mounts over the existing mirror and covers it really well. I can also close my visor easily with it installed.

Awesome, thanks. Can you/have you run it with the rear-facing camera on full time? That would be my primary use for it.

That's why I put a reverse cam in mine recently. The canvas on my rack blocks all view. But at least with my cam it came down to how you wired it up if it was on full time. I tapped into an accessory power that was on when the truck is on so the camera is powered all the time, and the head unit trigger is tapped into the reverse switch. So on my head unit I can switch to look at the reverse cam if I need to even if I am not in reverse. I would assume these cams would be operational based on how you wire it as well.

Yeah, although I've gotten used to it. This would just be nice to have, plus you never know when you'll want a video of stuff that's happening in front or behind you.

FYI that camera setup only lets you do 2.5K on the front and 1080 on the rear or vise versa. No 2.5k on both. You need the next model up to run both at 2.5k.

Good call, I really only need/want it for the rear but might as well have the capability to do both at high res.

If you scroll down to the side by side comparison between models, there is a $69, $99, and $149 version. The $149 one does 2.5K front and rear.

Thanks for the link. Maybe now I'll be able to keep tabs on the dogs and see what I'm backing into.

I have a set collecting dust in the box on the shelf. They've got your name on them.

Yeah I mean I know you're getting it for the utility of it. But might as well have it for the worst case scenario too to be able to ID anyone.

You throwing in a body lift too? I imagine you're going to be well into the lower door hinge with your cut to fit those big tars.

My original lift springs werent strong enough to hold the front of the roof up at their deplyed angle, so I installed new stronger ones (I had been using prop-sticks before). They were much too strong to be used regularly, but I wasnt in a position to mess with them at the time so I clamped the lid closed and drove home. I took a weird gust of wind while passing a semi-truck at 75mph on the freeway which helped the gas springs start the lift. Once they started, the springs just buckled the aluminum frame and snapped it.

I'm bummed, but this is an oportunity to build the roof better, stronger, lighter. I'm going to try using aluminum 8020 T-track, aluminum composite material roof, and a better waterprooof fabric ( see @Ripcord 's excelent write-up here https://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/diy-wedge-camper-gfc-replica.213267/)

I'm just glad I didnt hurt anybody. Stay positive, you know? We need it these days.

Have you seen a double-din head unit that does dash-cam DVR duty? I've got the only one I could find installed, but its a Pyle and it truly is a pile. It's a bummer that the big-boys like Kenwood or Pioneer dont have a headunit that will do front and rear dash-cam.
