I did but as usual it got co-opted into another project. It's powering a carbureted LS... yeah. Sounds like a waste of an EFI computer until I mention that it's carbureted and at 5psi of boost it kicks on 8 injectors spraying pure methanol at each port. Anyway that thing is a nightmare and other than wiring, not my build.

 

ah. Well go haltech for the taco then! I think I will. Just easier and good support for it. Nice units too. Pricey...but nice.

 

Yeah, only thing would be learning Haltech's software, I'm pretty used to TunerStudio for SpeedyEFI (Spokane based speeduino ECU maker) and MegaSquirt. But shit what's one more tuning platform to learn. Nistune, TunerStudio, WinKFP, Hondata, AEMTuner, my brain has room for one more I think. LinkECU, MoTec, and Haltech are the only ones I haven't had to use before.

 

eh it can't be that different. Like anything, it does the same thing just slight differences in the GUI and UI. I'd imagine you'll be fine.

 

I’m pretty sure he makes these complete harness in house custom for each ECU by the year when an order comes in because of the multiple ECU that Toyota used.
He asked me to send him a photo of my ECU pin connector and a picture of my harness connector too,
To make sure everything is 100 percent correct,
He can install two maps if one wants with a switch to toggle between them too,
If let’s say you wanted a setup for All power with 100 octane gas with aggressive timing OR a 14.8 afr tune earth friendly,
So much flexibility

 

Gabe also said he can do the final Street tune remotely for the haltech.
He knows these Toyota setups inside out.

That’s a huge plus just by its self for me to have someone tell me how to fix a problem if it comes up.

My buddy got the fic6 installed and it took forever to get it tuned because there is ZERO support Specific for the 3.4 motor

 

I will have some feedback in a few months on this unit, it’s been ordered

Exposed the cancer on my RH RR Upper shock mount. I know most people would say cut it out and replace with new, but I plan to add new plates and keep it. The top portion is still fine, and I like cutting and welding, so... I did put in new LH and RH uppers on my other truck. but I'm going to patch this one.




It's rusted all the way through along the red line.

This is a common spot to rust and you have a lot of rust,
This area is hidden because of the spare tire.
I had a little rust but decided to attack it head on and not wait and had frame supports added.

Picked up a set of 16x8 ATX Mojave rims for dirt cheap. Now I need to get some better tires.

 

I use to have those wheels when I first got the truck from my dad... how the hell did your center caps fit?

 

They fit in the back no problems. I did not use them on the front do to the manual hubs.

 

just went ahead and ordered a new shifter seat bushing. got tired of the slop in my shifter and the shifting was getting kinda notchy so my hope is that this will fix it. if this doesnt do it then i'll replace the trans oil again but I just did that so my hope is not to need to do that.
