Thatll work well with your 2.7, I have 4.56s on my 3.4 with 265/75r16s waiting for 285/75r16s and its not fun lol. But should be fine for yours, actually pulled my rear diff out of a truck that was a factory 2.7 4.56 truck

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Made a trip up to see my buddy @MattJakobs today. 1 step closer to being F/R locked at 5.29.

Thank you Matt, for pushin the deal through and baby sitting it till I could come get it from ya

Elocked Tacoma axle... but has already been swapped to 5.29. I'll just swap the 3rds because my shock relocates have already been done to my current Elocker housing.

I dont recommend checking torque with it on the ground. I did this once and shortly after had 2 bolts shear in the spindle and the others were loose.

There is NO room for a intercooler because the 1997 grill bumper is much shorter then 1998 forward.
If I removed the AC maybe.
Only other option would be a rear mounted turbo

Took some measurements for an upcoming diesel swap I am planning.

Okay, actually, this dude showed up at the parking lot for my morning jogging spot. Couldn't resist the glamour shot.

Nah you can fit one just have to chop the grill a bit or fit one in the lower valence area. It's been done by a few folks.

Yea I saw the one the 1996, he had to cut the hood latch out, use hood pins and had no AC condenser to get in the way,
95-97 have a much smaller area inbetween the grill and the radiator or AC,

Should be getting the Haltech in a week hopefully

I know it is. I own 2 of that year. I'm confident I can fit an intercooler on the one I hope to turbo.

Selectable is definately better. I'm glad I've always had an elocker in the back, it's helped me out quite a few times, even before I was 4wd. I thought about doing a non selectable in the front. Now I'm glad I waited. The Harrop should be a nice addition to the truck.

Yeah, I got a pretty solid deal on a non selectable locker up front. So far I like it but its just making me want to save up for a selectable rear mainly so I can say the truck is double locked lol

I was excited when I got mine from them; super quick with a nice discount too.

Can't wait to see your truck progress even more

Are you still running stock gears? If so, keep an eye out for an elocked rear axle from a part out. I'm under the impression it's not too hard to switch from an open diff to a locked rear axle. You need to look for the whole rear axle and the harness, but it would probably be cheaper/easier than having an ARB or Harrop done on your open axle.

I am not, I'm on 4.56s. I planned to pickup a spare 8.4 diff so I could regear outside of the truck and not be rushed for time, but the spare diff I picked up was a factory 4.56 lol. So threw that in the truck just so I can use 4wd and have my stock 4.10 sitting on the bench waiting for me to regear/install truetrac

Took a 3rd place in the novice class at the autocross this weekend, and 98 out of 140 overall.

Here is a list of folks that were shredded by the first gen Tacoma!

It did cost a couple tires though!
