How it looks now it’s both doors open to get some air flow going with a fan
That was a concern but with the center console cut out, it lets a lot of that heat in. Finishing the center console helped that a lot. Sound deadening isn’t a concern but maybe before I bed line it I’ll cruise around with just floor mats and then throw some horse mats in and see how that is.
My dad bedlined the floor of his jeepster and with floor mats his is pretty comfy to cruise around in and he has no heat shield or anything. Gets warm on the warm days but nothing crazy.

Main issue is I’m debating cutting the floor out when I cage it and building a new floor to lower it for bucket seats so trying to decide what’s easiest.

for now I’ll start with stripping the carpet. Cleaning up the aftermarket wiring and old sound deadening and try some horse mat I have laying around to see how it is. Thanks

If you're planning on cutting the floor anyway, it wouldn't take much to cut the wires, pin them and use a bulkhead connector to run then under the cab. Would be a pain in the ass though.

Might be easier to bend up some aluminum covers and seal them to the floor with a bulb gasket or some silicone.

Oh, that's smart. I have the same issue and I was just going to stick a nut on the other side and call it good until I inevitably forget the next time I need to remove it.

How were you planning on getting a nut inside the frame though?

That happen to be an m8 rivnut? I’m thinking about doing the same exact thing for my mount right near the passenger rear cam tab. Just need to figure just what size drill bit to drill it out with

It's actually not a riv-nut at all. It's a M10 flange nut with the nut portion inside the frame, and then I welded the flange all the way around to the frame. I am not sure I would trust something that see's heavy impact on a riv nut. I have stripped the internals of a riv nut way too easily before just trying to install them. What I was actually surprised most about this project was that the bottom portion of the frame is actually much thicker than the sides. It seems to be almost 3/16" while the sides of the frame are closer to 1/8". It was a fairly large pain in the dick drilling the holes out upside down.

    Stock again- rip slug
Couple of small "to-do's" on the slug.

Got a new deckplate bc I lost the last for my air intake.

New obd2 reader for long distance trip peace of mind and code reading if any errors arise.

Finally changed my shattered shell window, thanks to @Phessor ! Re sealed the rear window, need to seal cab to shell still.

Anddd. Found me a leaky leak, guess thats one more reason to open up the rear and weld it! :stirthepot::stirthepot::stirthepot:

Had a bundle of fun melting tires off at the autocross this weekend, and took 2nd in the novice class out of 16 drivers!

Old Trudy sure is fun and holding on strong, she needs some more tires soon though!

All good info, very solid point about the impact vulnerability. I’ve never messed around with rivnuts before so maybe I’ll look back at drilling and re-tapping or poping a nut ontop since I can get in that spot luckily.

Also, it shows how sharp I am today thinking “why did he grind down his rivnut head……..” Jesus I need a beer or coffee haha

Hey I think you need some wider tires man. Those don't look to have enough of a contact patch for snow wheeling lol

Well, not the exact same issue; my stripped threads are on the cross frame.

I'm running M8 rivnuts there on my mid skid and they've been just fine. Those are only two of six anchor points on mine, however. YMMV of course.

Idk where you're running at, or how much or little driving experience you or the other drivers have but....you beating an s2k by nearly 3 seconds and 2 M2 competition's by 6 and 10 seconds.....veryyyyy interesting. I'd be so mad if I was those m2 people $60k+ for a car and they can't even drive:annoyed:

little of that but id also guess it a little of not wanting to wreck a 60k car either. 6k taco? Fuckin send it! lol

    still impressive for sure.

Who has made a wiper fluid reservoir out of ABS/PVC and relocated it? Had to remove my OEM finally today, and would like to see photos/positioning/construction.

    Thanks!

I made one out of ABS that worked great, but I will have to find a picture of it.
