See new video, tried 4th and still a noise.

    Yeah also leaning TOB

Basically taking slack out of the clutch and it's gone almost instantly. You can also hear in the new video the constant noise that I think always has been there from the pilot bearing.

That sucks. I haver sunk this thing in so much shitty water over the years, kinda stoked on how long it's actually lasted.

Wasn't sure what frenching hangers entailed... now that I know, I didn't need to buy a white flag, it wasn't so bad.

You have the same hangers right? We totally could do it, the reviews on the hangers make much more sense if the hangers aren't frenched. Apparently people have bent leaves on the back pieces of the structure somehow.

Yeah same hangers from ruff stuff. I’ve hung them up on rocks before, it’s generally not a big issue though. Never had a problem hitting or bending the leaves though.
Mostly I just don’t want to drop the gas tank to get in there.

Yeah, that was rather unpleasant to pull out, draining it took a while using the pump.

I’ll be curious to see where you sit height-wise, and if it squats very much when loaded. Mine is too high unloaded, but it’s about perfect when loaded up for two weeks so I don’t want to mess that up too much by dropping the rear 2”

I tend to like my truck lower overall and I barely measure out to 4950lbs fully loaded for bear. I'm really hoping I'm not too ass high

You have the 1/2 ton springs right? It might sit a little high with a totally empty bed, but even with an RTT on there and some tools it should be pretty level.

I have the 3/4 to. Leaf pack with no overloads, I think if I frenched the hangers in I would just add another leaf or something.

You know, I'm actually not 100% sure, I got really lucky at the junkyard and they were already off the truck sitting in the bed... so I didn't look at the truck much. They may be 3/4t leafs.

Here it was sitting on the mounts rather than frenched, only my 200lb bedslide was in there

Hmm, yeah might depend on what year they came off of. They’re a 4 leaf pack, but don’t have the full length second leaf, which I think is from earlier pickups.

Mine are from a ~'97 3/4 ton, they are 5 leaf packs with the full length second leaf, which is what makes me think yours are 1/2 ton. With as light as your truck is I think the 1/2 tons are probably the right setup.

I originally started with just 4 leaves but added the 5th back in after seeing it squat under full load.

I used 6x8 speakers for the front and rear. I might have had to do some cutting to the black plastic mount, can't remember. It's been 6 years. This is what my OE speaker looked like for reference:

Found a couple photos from the install. The original speakers are fairly shallow, I think that's why I had to cut the black plastic a bit to fit

Sweet! Just ordered up some 6x8s. Got dynamat and dyna liner coming for the doors too so figured it would be a good time to swap them out.

Time to pull the bed and drop the tank again.

I'm contemplating installing a new fuel pump while it's apart I'm not sure how old the current pump is and Im just over 320k miles

If the P0442 and PO446 codes return after this I might just try and find the evap leak with a blow torch
