I would say the third gen Tacoma was stagnant but the Corolla hatchback refreshing. I see your point too. My fleet of Europeans reflects similar beliefs. Toyota did and continues to do dumb shit but that dumb shit works.

    Thanks.

It's weird trail gear/low range/whatever says 3-3/8 fit. They don't fit their flip plate unless you want to destroy the threads...

So I’ve gotten it to operating temp since replacing IAC last night multiple times now and right now it’s idling at about 1500 rpm and isn’t coming down yet. Check engine light is on. These are the codes I’m getting.

Is this something that usually takes a few days to adjust itself or like a few minutes?

I've done a mod or two
Well you're getting a misfire from something, might be worth inspecting your coils, wires, and plugs as a starting place. Those codes rarely go away on their own. The lean code might be real or it might be from not having your MAF plugged in. Reset your ECU and see what comes back, my guess is the misfire will and you'll need to address that.

It's not the only thing that would cause a misfire... But, the only time I've had random misfire, it was my spark plugs. I replaced them and cleared the code, and it never came back.

Ya it’s just weird cus I didn’t have any codes before I replaced the IAC now all of a sudden everything’s haywire lol. Spark plugs are brand new.

no way. The water temp at the bottom of a properly functioning radiator is crazy low. Like almost ambient temp low. It would be completely ineffective at warming trans fluid. It’s absolutely designed as a cooler, not a heater.

    LOL... ok

So, when it's 20 degrees outside, that part of the radiator is going to cool your trans fluid? The lower part of the radiator is going to be "ambient temp" (which would be 20 degrees)

Ya, that's odd. Is the IAC and OEM? You sure it's connected properly? Did you disconnect, or bump something else loose when you were working on it?

That part of the radiator is absolutely going to cool your trans fluid when it’s 20F out, once the transmission fluid warms up. Because even when it’s cold, your trans fluid will warm up while driving.

it’s not going to be “ambient temp,” but in cold weather it will be close to room temp, yeah. I live in SoCal, so ambient may have been the wrong word.

Either way, that cooler is designed as such. It’s not a heater in any way.

When I built my onboard shower, v1.0 utilized that cooler in a misguided attempt to heat the water. 45 minutes of highway driving with the circulation pump running and I ended up warming the 3.5gal of water by 5 degrees. turns out radiators are amazingly efficient and that heat exchanger is a terrible heater.

No I got it off RockAuto for like $120. That’s what I’m trying to figure out but from what I can tell everything looks normal. I did forget to plug the MAS back in for a sec when I started it up for the first time but that’s obviously fixed now and I even cleaned the MAS. Am perplexed lol.
Something definitely does sound different though. It’s like the air intake is louder but not from the filter but more from the TB.
