check engine came n reading code P0304, had a bad misfire. It was time for new plugs and wires. Went with twin head plugs and import direct spark plug wire set for replacement. I went ahead and replaced fuel filter. I am at 1896k and bought the truck at 179k. So far replaced worn suspension parts and went ahead and went with Bilstein 4600 since its just RWD. Recently replaced radiator that was seeeeping coolant from the seams. I would like to do a power steering flush and a transmission flush since i have no idea when its been done last. Levels on fluids have been holding steady since I've had it but definably showing the miles in color of the fluids. Any recommendation on good LED headlights? I replaced old broken headlights with cheap new replacements and the beam patter is clear just not smooth at all.

I was almost sold on the scheel-mann but then I seen the price…lol don’t think that will be an option for most people.

Yeah, definitely not cheap, but I think for as much ass in seat time as Dan gets it makes sense. I like my mastercrafts for the tacoma, but I can't put something like them in the LC, it would cause me pain... so scheel-mann are on the menu for that and my wallet will hate me.

I thought spending sub $2k on seats was hella expensive. I can never see myself paying $4k for seats unless they also came with a vehicle.

I made a post in this thread to get me one step closer to being able to use the marketplace. That counts as progress on the Taco right?

I drive an average of 25,000 miles per year in my Tacoma and I still can't justify that price!

Hell, why you are here why don’t you read and participate in the discussions. Lol that’s the real reason there’s a limit, marketplace is for active contributors to the forum. :boink:

I had a hard time stomaching the price as well - financial intelligence is one of the ways I'm in the (lucky) position I am to be able to do all this.

The biggest factor for me is that - for many of the trips I go on - the initial drive to the "beginning of dirt" is 18-22 hours, and I "have" to do it in a single go. My living situation at home means that I've got 5-day chunks of time to explore, including travel to/from.

With those types of durations in the seat, it's important that my back/butt don't start to hurt 8 hours into the trip, because while I might want to break the journey into 2-3 days, I just don't have that luxury at this point. So yeah, a price to pay, but at the end of the day, worth it (for me). Hobbies are expensive, but a life-long back problems are even costlier.

Maybe in the exploration offseason you can dedicate a blog to this subject.

The Fiscally Responsible Taco - Escape the Workplace” has a nice familiar ring to it.
