Unplugged my ultragauge for the winter to utilize my ABS system. Too lazy to buy an OBDII extension and remove the pin to fix that issue. I get such crappy mileage from using 4wd in the winter, I don't care to see what my real-time mileage is

If you pull the axle shafts out you should be able to inspect the bearing and seals. You can check to see for gear oil leaks where the axle bolts to the drums.

You can get extended brake lines from trail-gear.ca or All Pro

Meh, they are a great company, probably the most knowledgable I've dealt with. I wouldn't mind buying from them after all the times I've asked for help there.

I just applied Fluid Film for the winter under my truck. Didn't get all of it yet, but I'm going to go back when it's not super windy out. Stuff smells pretty bad! Heard good things about it, so I'm giving it a shot since it was free

    ...too much shit to list.
    ^ This.

I happily spend more on certain things if it gets me better service. I've had too many fly by night fuck ups to even want to deal with it anymore. The best is getting the best price and the best service, but vendors like that (read DSM, Cyberweld) are few and far between.

I've been buying from Crutchfield since 1985... love them.

I went with the Polk db651 based on the customer service rep's recommendation. They have mixed reviews, but I can always return them if they sound like crap: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107DB651S/Polk-Audio-db651s.html?tp=95

For the head unit I went with this JVC: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_105KDX50BT/JVC-KD-X50BT.html#details-tab

Based on 45acp's recommendation as well as the customer service rep. In fact he had the X40BT in his car and he couldn't recommend this more for the price range.

So we'll see. I mainly got it because of the bluetooth, honestly. It was becoming more dangerous fishing out my headphones (w/mic), untangling them and plugging them into the phone, for hands free calls, than just answering the damn thing like normal.

Plus now I can stream audio from my iPhone, wirelessly, to the stereo which is cool.... I like to use tunein radio, pandora, etc

    I paid $220 for everything.

Don't have to deal with wiring harnesses, as they supply it. Don't have to deal with bluetooth module, as they supply it... I'll take the plug-n-play ease of installation and their customer service for that price.

But man... you've been a Negative Nancy lately. Something you wanna get off your chest? I'm here for you, Bro

I have bought from them and the price was fair and the service has always been excellent . I will buy from them again . The bottom line is not always the price . The local Toyota dealership's slogan is " Price sells cars " , they will never get my money again . The Toyota dealership that provides the best service will get my dollars.

It's hard to compare Crutchfield to many other online vendors because they do have the guy there to help you. I've never actually needed his services so I just go by price mainly. Amazon, sonic electronics, and even ebay have all been great suppliers for all my audio needs (And I've bought a lot). I can see where crutchfield is great to use but if you know what you want, you can save money with a ton of other well-known vendors.

Nice! Yeah, bluetooth is the best! I love just being able to stream the music app, Pandora, tune-in, etc from my iPhone. :yay:

I have a pioneer HU in mine. The only issue I've had with bluetooth in my Taco is when I'm using the handsfree, the person on the other line says the engine noise on their end sounds like a cruise ship blowing it's horn when I'm accelerating. I have my bluetooth mic mounted from the roof liner right above the rear view mirror. Hence one of the reasons I'm thinking about installing some sound deadening in the cab.
