I’ve had 4.88’s with 33’s for a few years and it was great. But with the 35’s I’m wanting 5.29’s. Manual transmission

wow either I haven't notice or you're back! Long time no see maybe?

    35s

give the Kenda RTs a look. I have REALLY been impressed with mine. They were pretty cheap for a while, but probably gone up. They had a 35 r17 though.

Been a while for sure! You could say I’m back haha. Finished school in Wyoming in May now I’m workin in West Texas. This job has me surfin the web a lot more haha. I’ll give em a look. Used to think kendas were some cheapo tire but I’m seeing them a lot more on a lot of rigs. Thought about stepping up to a 17 but if I did I’d probably run beadlocks and that’s an unnecessary cost since my wheels are fine and have lots of rock rash for character hahaha.

Real world experience. Good to hear. I’ve had 4.10s with my 33’s for years and years. Made do. But I definitely want some more torque down low when I do 35’s.

Yeeeeeppp!! Won’t ever need the rears since I did the flatbed and once I trim the front fenders since I’m a 2000 with no holes for flares I won’t be able to use the wheel well oem holes to mount since they will be incognito lol. So I have no use for em at this point.

Are you in need of flares? I have 01-04 flares from when I wrecked my 04 in 2015. They bolted on the 98-00 fenders without clips just fine. But yea I sold my 2000 flares and was running 01-04 flares and that’s what’s in my barn right now.

Ah! 01-04 flares, uncut, are what I'm in search of. I cut mine up to fit 35s.

Well... So, I was looking for a spare set of fuel injectors to send off to get serviced, for my son's 4Runner.

Figure, that way we don't have a dead horse down, while we wait for them to get back.

Found a set of fuel injectors :anonymous:

I guess it depends on how much highway you run, I love my low end but the highway she screams. I have 35's, m/t and doing 85-90 puts me at close to 4k RPM's if that matters to you.

    75-80 is around 3400-3500 rpm’s.

thats why I'm going to do the 5th gear swap to add 20%ish to it. Bring it down to 3k or so for 80mph. Under 3k hopefully for 70.

Cause I looooove the torque and control everywhere else.

I honestly think the 4.88s and 35s will be fine for me. :notsure:

Hell, I'm running 5.29s with 33s and I really like it right now. (3.4 Auto)

The 5.29s were prepping to go to 35s.

with an auto that doesn't surprise me. The gear ratios are much taller in an auto than a manual.

For perspective at 70mph in a manual its around 2750ish rpm. Auto is like 2050. Large difference. So over gearing an auto gets you into where a manual sits normally often.

probably be fine. Not as awesome as it was though for sure.

For sure. Driving my kids truck (Zane's old truck) I noticed the gearing was way taller. Actually didn't even mind the 4cyl driving it, the amount I did.

The 5.29s have been really nice for me though, in my auto. I actually have some noticeable engine braking now. It's been good in that perspective as much or more than in the torque. The truck just drives WAY better now than it did with 4.10s. I wish I had swapped at the same time I did the 4wd. But funds just weren't there for the swap, and 5.29s, AND a front locker all at once.
