all I know is that my km2's dont like a'a lava

 

like I was telling monte earlier...mine are starting to chunk like crazy. I'm missing whole lugs now
and worn down km2's + wet roads= no go

 

I gotta get an updated pic when I go back home, lugs are gone and some are just flapping around
yeah, the rock here sucks. But I've heard all these raving reviews about the MT/Rk's so I wanna see what the hubub's about

checked the pressure last time they I had problems slipping, they were actually a little low
going up the hills in the rain...had to throw it into 4hi and I got passed by a neon

 

not on MT/R's though! The duratracs seem to have that problem

No I have read of people puncturing the MTRs too. I don't think they would be much better for you..think your pretty much screwed on that sharp shit.

 

I may be PMing you in the future. Still deciding between 882s or 883s. I want a plate bumper eventually but that probably won't happen for a couple years after I lift unless I land a better paying job than expected. Looks good though, just get some bigger tires

 

Yeah put a few miles on them first, lol. And I know what you mean about replacing tires. My 32's still have like 75% tread on them and they are about to be swapped for my winter tires. It takes so long to wear out a set of tires up here when you're swapping them out every six months

And agree with the others, Cody.... You're kinda screwed with that lava rock. My BFGs are chunking quite a bit from the occasional loose rock/sharp ledges hill climbs I sorta "throttle" up... but I think the BFGs can handle it... I even have a nice sized chunk missing from one of my sidewalls and the tire hasn't failed me yet. It's crazy how thick BFG's triple ply sidewalls are. lol

I can't really claim to say one is better in off-road performance, or sidewall strength (I lean towards BFG in this one...), and any mud tire will perform poorly in rain/snow unless siped, but I know for sure that the kevlars are MUCH louder on the road. lol Don't know if that's a big deal for you, but there's one difference......

I have a few nice slices in my sidewall too...which is half the reason I wanna swap tires. Didn't notice em until right before I left but I'm kind of amazed that they didn't blow out

and I realize that all M/T's suck ass on wet, but holy shit I was going backwards!

Here's my sidewall chunck.... Been on many wheeling trips since this happened.

 

I can't imagine many tires holding up in the lava fields.
Tho' I'd think a tire with smaller lugs would fair better.

As far as the boot angles go...
if you can slip a piece of paper between the fins of the boot.
while the tires are faced forward...
That should be sufficient and the boots should live longer.
High speed friction is what can dry them out
and make them become vulnerable

It's not that much. I do wheel it some it the mtns in Ga. Next year it will be wheeled a lot bc Meatman and I will be doing a lot of camping. But I like the armor.
