Shift knob came in. So it’s installed. The plugs should be here tomorrow along with clutch pedal shit. And a wiper arm cap. [IMG]

Dan, your advice never falls on deaf ears. I even have some of your walk-throughs bookmarked.

With that being said, it's my cv axle seal that needs replacing; specifically my passenger side.

As for rebooting; I have 3 OEM cv axles that need a reboot. But that won't happen until I have time next year (moving in a week).

My 4R runs O'Reilly EXT cv axles, and would require to find out what kind of aftermarket boot would fit as they already tore up. Funny thing is, they tore months ago (over 5k miles) and they haven't leaked yet -

A gotcha; reading too fast. Funny thing - my seals leaked for a while, and I too procrastinated fixing them (though, I think it's not too hard). At any rate, I cleaned them - they were pretty disgusting - and haven't had any trouble, or leaking, since. ( My Front Diff is Leaking (…and Fixing It) )

Anyway, you may give it a shot - just pull the axles, and then clean off the rubber surfaces of the seal that's right there with easy accessibility. Might solve all your issues. :notsure:

Yeah after this get together tomorrow, I'm going to utilize the lift at my work (for the last time) to pull my cv axles and replace the seals.

Hoping it's easy pulling these axles off as they don't exactly have a lip -

Only reason I ever use to go to redhook was when we'd go to Hawks or M's games to prefunk
Just dealt with this on my GX. I tried the pry method, the brute force method (find a lip, set pry bar in parallel with CV and beat with hammer) and couldn't get it. Finally used this tool with a slide hammer...

    https://www.amazon.com/MR-CARTOOL-R...+tool&qid=1630037552&sprefix=cv+&sr=8-12&th=1

    It worked wonders...

Is the cv shaft rubbing the coilover?

Does it work with skids on still?

Yep, but that happened only for the 20 miles that I needed an alignment.

Idiot by where I live gave me a love tap and happened to knock out my alignment, which caused the rubbing that you see there. Never happened again after I got it aligned.

Hit a local pick and pull- got the 4wd knob from a 4Runner and the shift knob from a RAV4 for $10 total. Try that.
