First post! Bought my Taco a month ago. 2 weeks later no AC(PO put a compressor on that died). So I spent $1500 today. I like my little truck :)

That 20 year old tint was a pain in the a** to get off. Got ceramic tint for it 30%. Already did the back window.

Nice Truck, and Welcome!! This heat wave is brutal, so getting your AC going was a worthy investment. How many miles on your truck, if you don't mind me asking?

The ceramic tint makes a big difference. Keeps it way cooler and your left arm doesn't get sunburnt on road trips

Thinking about getting this soon after getting some tint on the dd. Anything to make it cooler, nice part about ceramic is it doesn't need to be super dark for the heat dispersion so I don't need to feel blind in the winter darkness either.

Also I feel like all the trucks in TX/NV/AZ/Socal look sun baked like that.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Definitely agree on the ceramic tint. Just had my driver/passenger windows done with it. HUGE difference!

has everyone heard that it's a 3 to 5 year life expectancy on the ceramic tint? I don't understand why. Does the heat it blocks just ruin the adhesion after awhile? I know it scratches easily, but....

I've never heard of that before. All shops I've been to offer lifetime warranties on their tint job. But it's not like I have a UV measuring device or anything to measure performance over time either. I wouldn't worry about adhesion at all if it's a legit place that's doing the work.
Yea I would definitely recommend it.
You can even go as far as getting the windshield tinted with the clearest film that's offered (which is typically 85%: not noticeable unless you told someone). I plan on doing that to my daily when I get around to it.

Yeah after I got my corolla done with Prime HP (non ceramic), I notice how AWFUL the front windshield is for both letting in heat and blinding me in an otherwise dark car. I need a new windshield before I get the trucks front tinted, but the Corolla def needs some front ceramic in a light color. Also +1 to lifetime warranty, my guy offers that too.

Lifetime warranties don't necessarily mean the product will last a lifetime. The warranties you're getting cover specific things, like bubbling, or delaminating, normally things that the shop has some control over (or, in the case of manufacturer's warranty, it'll usually cover whatever will make the product competitive). The product can be worn out in all kinds of ways that will not be covered by the warranty.
    Here's a 3M ceramic tint warranty:
"Maintain solar reflective properties without cracking or crazing. Maintain adhesion without blistering, bubbling or delaminating from the glass. Maintain film’s color and never fade to purple."
So, I guess that answers my question about adhesion.
Anyway, today I'm seeing a lot of places talking about a 10 year life expectancy.. Yesterday I was seeing 3 to 5.. I guess since this stuff is sorta new(?) we just won't know for a bit.

    Stuff. Also things.
I’m just running the 3.5 backspace F5s, no spacers. I still get frame rub, but I didn’t want to deal with the poke that I had with the 1” spacers. Even at 2.5 total backspace, I'd still rub at times. At this point, it’s just part of the game.

I am considering running 35x10.50/17 skinnies down the road to keep the same poke and get the inner tire off of the frame some.

What did you do with the bumper mounts? Cutting and welding, or just use the couple of bolt holes that lined up and called it good enough?

yeah it pretty much up and bolts on directly but theere is a plate you have to remove from the oem 4runner bumper to allow access for the bolt holes
