I agree on replacing the LBJs, @DashMaple , but I doubt that amount of play would cause that change in camber.

I would check to make sure you alignment cams are torqued first thing.

LBJs are on the list to do, Ill def check my bushings and alignment cams.
Any suggestions on LBJs that might last longer than OEM? I wasnt too impressed with the 555 inner tie rods I got, and very displeased with my moog sway bar end links.

I dont drive the truck too often now so no need to worry about me sending it down the road with bad ball joints and ending up with a kachow post on here haha. I do appreciate the concern though.

OEM and replace more frequently since you wheel or Total Chaos uniball conversion for $1000.

The problem isn't that OEM are of substandard quality, it's that the design is fundamentally flawed. OEM is still generally considered the best value even though it costs more.

Some folks do like 555 ball joints, especially those folks who thrash on their trucks replace their ball joints more frequently than normal. The cost savings outweigh any quality difference when you're going to replace them frequently regardless.

I know it's not standard practice on the forum to do this, but I just found this pic and wanted to share it here... I've since upgraded to a 2007 taco since then... But here was when I got my first gen and caught the bug for Tacoma's... I was 17, young, dumb, and stupid at the time (ended up having to get rid of it for that reason). I'm now 22, somewhat older, just as dumb, yet slightly less stupid. I hope you old heads enjoy. Don't worry, the Airforce taught me how to cut my hair and wear shoes!

Had the exhaust extended out the back and took it all up to 2.5in pipe. No more drone and sounds great now.

So, the update to this is that even though I could have just replaced the fuse and restored my dash lights since I already had the gauge cluster pulled decided to check the lights. Turns out that if your selling a truck and you don't want to advertise that there is an airbag or abs issue you just remove the lights

At least now I know I have an issue and can address them

Experimenting something. Used chemical guys on the hood and meguiars on the roof. Same type of product so we’ll see how the two compare.

Did the Gentex mirror wiring while I had everything apart and was able to get a nice clean run under the dash. Took advantage of existing cord organizers and took an old rubber bushing for the run through the metal frame in the middle. Had the mirror glued when wife's windshield got replaced so am good to go20230129_121055.jpg

Upper ball joints. Driver side was fine, passenger side was dry and sloppy.

Moog are still going 3 years later after comparing OEM side by side. I personally don't think the Teflon liner can handle the abuse I put I through.

Outta curiosity what kinda lube are you pumping into the Moogs? I've been using Stalube Super Moly fortified for my SPC uppers and moog tie rods. Been good so far on those.

Been there, by the time I was fitting shifters I was exhausted from the dual cases project lol but you’re close to the end! Good work!

I FOR SURE know what you're talking about.

I'm kind of getting burned out on all these projects this winter... and I still have the rear axle and suspension to do.

I just want to thrash on this and get the duals done. Go to Hammers, and take a break from projects for a minute.
