What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I installed a short throw shifter and twin sticks. Also installed fiberglass fenders and helped a buddy get some firewood.

Thanks man. Yours is one of my favorites too. Haha I love the 35's, but I test fit JW's 36's on my truck the other day and it made me want that size. But I think this is as big as I'm gonna go.

 

hate you..see..you should just donate some parts to Frankenstein like..your lockers..and gears...and tires..and rear shocks..

seriously though, could be interested in the tires when the time comes..we shall see..

yea 35s on a 1st gen with IFS is huge IMO. 33s is perfect..but 35s are boss.

 

Thanks man. The glass is actually from Perry's fab n fiber. I'm really happy with it. I only had to sand one spot and the rest fit really well.

The twin sticks weren't too bad, but I've taken out my transfer case a couple of times so that's pretty easy. Splitting the case was also pretty easy. It sucks though because you only remove one little piece and put it all back together. Installing them after you modify the case is simple too. Overall its a really time consuming job though but imo it will be worth it in the long run.

 

yea i think ill do it once i get a crawl box. Might as well then haha

 

Yeah you'll already have everything out so there is no reason not to do it. I wish I could justify a crawl box.

Ya know what? Just chop off the IFS right now and install a soild axle! Wish I'd done that formt the very begining....

I really want to swap a solid axle but I don't see it happening for a long time. And I might try for a crawl box next summer. My spending spree is over for the year haha.

How much trimming did you do? I see about an inch off the front but not sure exactly?

 

you have to tub the fire wall. Usually about 1.5'' or more out of stock fenders. He has fiberglass fender though so they have a lot more cut out already.

 

When I had stock front fenders I cut two inches out all the way around, but now I have fiberglass fenders with just a couple inches cut out of the back and blended into the curve. I also pounded back the firewall. The rear isn't cut at all and I have very little rubbing when its flexed.

They are Perry's fab n fiber. I ordered 4 inch but I think I got 3 inch. But they are just the right flare.
