I know @Speedytech7 already told me that the timing belt tensioner pulley shouldn't be low enough to touch the oil pump house but it's still stuck in my head.

@Empty_Lord hope you don't mine me snagging a screenshot of your photo but it was perfect for what I wanted to see
    IMG_20230802_212722.jpg
When I pulled my Tensioner pulley the piston part (not sure what to call it exactly ) was rubbing on the block side of the cylinder wall. I wouldn't think twice about it but the new Tentioner pulley rubbed the exact same way in a new oil pump until I used a copper washer to create a small gap and I filed the Tentioner piston down a little bit.
    IMG_20230415_173004.jpg

The other reason it keeps nagging the back of my mind was seeing timmy have issues with stripping the pulling bult in the timing belt video. It made me wonder if a similar bind is what caused it to be cross threaded to start with.

Probably way over thinking this still but I just want to see if anyone else has the same wear marks for the tensioner pulley.

I'll do my best not to bring this up again:deadhorse:

The one I front of the belt. It’s concave. If it’s in backwards it’ll dig into the belt

I think the bfg was there to demonstrate that YMMV depending on manufacturer. He says at the end of the video that the pizza cutter he was testing is a rare breed and that if more offroad enthusiasts chose to buy them, more manufacturers would offer them.

It was probably a bit of a hint towards bfg as well.

I have a DOHC car tore apart in the garage right now and I gotta say, it's pretty wild the difference between it and the 5vz. Never realized that the intake cam drives the exhaust cam, that is clever.

i have the 3vz cams laying in the garage.. its very tempting to toss them in this engine and see how it responds.. but man... i dont want to do it just to have to pull it all apart again if they dont run right LOL

Wow, very different. I was surprised to see the 5vz rocking flat tappet lifters. Looks like they ditched it in the end.

The 5th valve train is a workhorse. Can survive with stupid low oil pressure.
The roller rocker addition on the new motors was purely for VVTI actuation angles being increased from what I’m told

I have used Grey RTV a bunch in the past. Kind of a pain to scrap off if you are in there on the future but its always been a good seal for me on all my diffs.

I swapped my rear diff today. No leaks yet lol. Jump to 5.29 from what it had feels great I can turn the 35s now. But… the diff does have a “howl” on coast/decel. Below 25-20mph not noticeable. Guess I’ll see how long this diff will last.

Got it towed. Spitting oil out of passenger side tube seal. One of the coil packs was loose and I pulled out a chunk of the rubber from that coil pack. Making some knocking sounds. Misfiring the past two days. Oh and of course I'm hundreds of miles from home. Pray for me :annoyed:
