I have a 4 year old Northstar AGM and a brand new Duralast Marine AGM. Both are similar specs.

I think it’s from a Suzuki Grand Vitara for the 3RZ/2RZ engines. CS144 is for the 5VZ I think? Not sure if they’re cross compatible.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
They're all pretty cross compatible. I'd avoid the GM Alts personally though.

I've run both on a 5VZ. I've given up on the CS144s. Even though they are rated for higher amp output at 140 amps, they never held up for very long. I went through 4 or 5 of them over the years.

Currently using a Denso 210-0461 which was originally made for a Suzuki. It is only rated at 105 amps but seems adequate for my needs.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

I had a Cadillac Alt that had a regulator going bad. One of the signs it was overcharging is my head unit was turning off... when the voltage was spiking. The highest I saw it get was 18V.

That was one of those things that had to be an immediate fix. It didn't go on "the list" lol

Check the ground (clamp to post) connection. I was having problems with a bad connection there and the truck would act like the battery was totally dead, when trying to start. I cleaned up the ground and tightened the clamp and the truck started up and had 14.7V

For some reason a lot of AGM batteries have a negative post that's way too much smaller than the positive post. And it makes it harder to get the clamp tight. (Optima negative posts are the one thing I don't like about Optima, they are worst about that).

They also sell replacement voltage regulators that have higher voltage set points, for less than those voltage booster fuses.

I’m going on 3 years with my cs144. But if it ever fails I’ll cash out for the dc power 180 amp one for our trucks

Drove to Alaska and then the North Slope Haul Road and back. 7500 miles. Some prep work was in order: new shocks (Bilsteins), new clutch, carrier bearing and tires. A rather long list of odds and ends, too many to go into. Bottom line, other than the truck struggling with it's load as we went through the Canadian Rockies it did an amazing job!

Agree and have been rockin' one for some time

I believe we both bought into the same group buy. I started out with NOCO Genius 10 but found the AGM charge profile/cycle to be questionable. I did try the CTEK (which is a good choice) but ended up going with the Victron and have been 100% satisfied with its performance. The added BT connection and visibility into the actual charge cycle is pretty cool too.

Once a month or so I'll toss the Northstar on the Victron. It's cycle time is typically 33 minutes before it goes into FLOAT then switches to storage. Solid charger. Highly recommend.

Anyone have an idea of what my truck might be worth?

Downside is that the clear coat is failing on the driver side.

That's a wrap... finished the clutch job. Quick test drive... so far I'm liking the short throw shifter I added in. Did the clutch on my 97 4runner 10 years ago. It was pleasantly familiar going thru the same drive train again on a new vehicle

I almost did one last time, on the 4runner. My perspective on money has changed some since then, so I get more toys and upgrades these days. If I really like it, will probably add one on that rig too.
