2011 sequoia is 5 lug and I’m sure they didn’t have these bullet hole wheels for the 5 luggers. I still find it funny 5 lug owners have no good choice in wheel selection even today. LC100, 2g tundra, 2g seqouia

what scanner are you using? did you try coating the black with spray foot powder to make it matte to pick up the reference dots and curves easier?

Made some more progress on my timing belt job, used a puller to remove the timing gear, got the new cam and crank seals installed, did a little cleaning. Figure I'm over halfway done now.

The studs came out when I removed the water inlet, I used the double nut approach to remove the old nuts, and I'll use it again to reinstall the studs. I haven't found a torque spec for the studs, so the current plan is to just snug them up as good as I can. Any opinions on whether to use locktite or something similar on the studs?

Cleaned my carpet on 97.. sprayed it with blue coral an pressure washed with hot water.. still wet, so i folded it 3 times rolled it up an stuck it in the washer with some dep degreaser cuz think i had a leaky bottle of 2 stroke or chainsaw oil one living in tha backseat while back.. frontloader worked out nice and came out surprisingly dry lol... ive been trying to fit a pair of late 90s sr5 4runner seats but im tryna figure out the mounting.. went cut and weld but i have other taco seats to steal mounts from i wasnt happy to see they likely wudnt fit cuz the metal frame is wider an rails are riveted.. so weld it is i guess watever..gotta set of 02 taco buckets but they need a recover.. cant stand 60/40 on long rides anymore.. better done without carpet lol.

Helped my buddy swap the service body of a 720 onto his (my old) first gen. Is it now the only taco w a service body? We were wondering what the bed was originally for. Maybe a short bed full size? Its about 66" wide, so fits great on the taco. Had to make some new crossmembers for it, but turned out great!

The 720 will get a flatbed and replace their atv on the farm. Cheaper and cooler than a side by side! The thing runs great and was a PNW truck until recently so its got good bones.

Ill be getting the gold box from that truck for mine. Previous owner slopped on a rubberized bedliner when bed floor rot started, and it got so much worse. I tried stripping some of it and found fist sized holes at every joint in the bed floor. Been running w a drop in liner, stoked to get a decent bed.20240406_105511.jpg 20240406_115933.jpg 20240406_141707.jpg 20240407_150743.jpg 20240407_160212.jpg

Are these 4runner door mirrors? Or did they just put the taller mirrors on higher trim tacos?
Been wanting to swap to the taller ones and keep the lever adjustment

That bed is def for a medium sized pickup. I put an old one on a fullsize chevrolet for the pool company back in the day and it was way wider than the cab...
Mirrors are def sr5 power mirrors in black for the year 01-04 taco.. the 95.5- 00 are a lil shorter but still slightly larger than the base model non power mirror i believe.

Oh nice. What are your plans? flared FRP fenders?

I have an older Einscan Pro and a Bambu X1C that I want to scan the interior / dash and print mounts or a new cup holder (really the main purpose) but finding the time to model everything sucks.

    01-04 got bigger side mirrors.

They do not have the lever adjustment though i don't think. Most are power and some I think you just have to move by hand.

Unsure of 4runners. But do know they would bolt right on if you found some you like.

    Right! Hes so stoked!

Word, thanks on the mirror stuff. Both the first gens ive owned have been sr5 trim, so lever mirrors. Just measured; 4 3/4 x 7 3/4ish. Itd be kinda snazzy to add bigger power windows, id rather do that than go to poke n tilt.

Didnt realize bc im a dunce but the bastard pack tipped my pinion angle down about 2 degrees. Took a worn out carrier bearing for me to notice! Got that replaced as well as the front and rear u joints on the rear shaft. With a 2* axle shim to keep it all healthy. No shifter wobble at 70 anymore!

Finally got around to installing the linear clutch return spring. I guess it was due after a bit over 400K miles.

    Here's the spring I used:

Could you share a picture of it installed? I just destroyed my new bushing during reinstall yesterday and had to improvise a new "bushing". Probably on borrowed time with this new set up.

As I learned on TW, the dash connection is already there. The clutch pedal side connects to the groove on the pin on the pedal arm. I was able to pop the torsion spring out without removing anything.

That's pretty slick and way easier. Can you notice any difference in feel?
