    Swapping out my a340E!

I have plenty of tabs open on this but this thread might help. Things to keep in mind are if your push button 4wd is ADD electronic or vacuum actuated. That will dictate how much work will need to go into that type of conversion.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2-4-select-to-j-shift-conversion-help.808308/

Also if you have any t case related questions I’d get with @turbodb he has an excellent write up on his adventuretaco site.

We're currently looking for gently used Casita. What model did you get, and how do you like it so far?

Moog springs. Picked them up from another guy on here who bought them and then changed his mind so they were gently used. Think they came from Suspensionlifts.com

Overall pretty pleased and truck runs well despite exhaust valves unfortunately being too out of spec on a few cylinders (thanks previous owner!)
mini-header + adjusting what valves I could did give me some noticeable torque gains lower in the rpm band. She loves Rotella 5w-40 too!

High temp paint + primer for valve cover
    3RZ-FE badge
    Valve cover gasket
    Cylinder seal gaskets
    Fresh PCV + grommet
    Adjusted valves / new shims
    New wires, plugs, packs
OEM 01+ mini header + heat shield (high temp primer + ceramic coated)
    New 02’s
    New EGR + pipe gaskets

    none (yet)
Had the day off work and decided to spruce a few things up after updating a lot of the fuel system.

Was tired of looking at the cancer on my rear bumper so busted out the angle grinder and gave it a fresh paint job. I know rear bumpers are cheap but don’t have the chance to pick one up yet.

    IMG_0835.jpg IMG_0838.jpg
    IMG_0844.jpg

Is it pretty? No. Is it prettier than it was? 1000%.

Then decided to take a torch to the wheel arches (they were greying like crazy) and paint my top box after getting new hardware to mount it to the bed.

    IMG_0845.jpg
    IMG_0848.jpg

Now it’s time to start thinking about new front suspension, a new rear bumper, and pulling the bed to rust treat the frame.

Love working on this thing and excited to have it looking passable as if I actually spend time on anything cosmetic and not mechanical.

    2k more miles to 300k!

Mostly cosmetic but she ain’t stock(looking) anymore.
Finally cleaned up this used but in good condition skid plate I scored from my salvage guy a while back(mine is shot w/rust). Had some purple power degreaser, a fine wire brush, and some naval jelly on hand so…then a couple coats of Duplicolor bed liner spray and a very light sand. Came out good enough for something going underneath the truck, I’m happy with it!
