What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Debido a un error de traducción, tuve problemas con la publicación anterior.
Mi problema es con el cierre de la tapa del maletero del camión.

He rediseñado el trabajo. Lo he simplificado. Solo tienes que doblar ligeramente hacia adentro el extremo que conecta con la tapa del maletero del camión.

Battery light came on. Didnt test it but assumed it was the alternator. bought a used one for $90 and swapped it in. took 4 hours. Was a bitch to get the electrical connector out of the old alternator, and was a bitch to get the used alternator in because the bearing was sticking out, few taps with the hammer and it was back in

 

you think thats bad, try doing a starter on a 3.4 automatic truck. talk about a bitch of a job.

 

whats the difference? same engine so wont they be the same?

 

starter motor not alternator. starter is located like right on top of the frame rail on the passenger side. for whatever reason on the automatic its worse than the manual.

 

I recently replaced my alternator with the 105A Denso, and I found it was much easier to unbolt the alternator entirely (both the tensioner and pivot) and then "set/fold/pivot the alternator down in the engine bay" in order to get the plug out. Was still a pain, but much easier to get a pair of pliers onto.



105A alt vs. stock. Same housing, same pulley profile, uses same belt, but the connector and positive post are in slightly different positions (still easy to use)

 

Sportsman's guide metal crates are on sale for $60. Welded hinged on the back and chained it to the back of the bed.
