Its a little 10hp Briggs and Stratton engine. The tranny is a cvt. We make the cvt case and throw in the gears though.

lol! We have the same thing here. Its...interesting.

But yea, a pretty good amount of engineering colleges have SAE teams. The SAE series, Baja and Formula, are pretty big. Dozens if not more than a hundred entries per competition. It can be a huge deal for engineering students to network in different industries for internships and jobs. Even if they don't network through SAE, its a major piece of experience to have on a resume.

Yep. Coula been university of wyo I guess. They have a huge engineering program there. The wyo tech guys are auto dudes tho. Kinda a mild rivalry between the, as they are right next to each other.

Bobert do you personally drive it? How is it on landings?
a guy had one at the track during one of my quad races and offered to let me drive it but i didn't have a chance to. it seems to me they would have a hard landing!

Yea, get to drive them on drive days, but not at competitions. I'm driving in the air pic. Actually rolled it today haha. Caught a rut in a turn along with hitting the turning brake a little hard.

It really depends on how you land haha. Its really not that bad unless you nose dive them. Also depends on the car. The team has to design a new car every year, so suspension geometry changes along with shocks, valving, springs, etc. I had some landings that were really biased toward one of the front corners today and it didn't hurt even then. The suspension on our cars is set up really well. I can't think of many times when a full blown jump has hurt. The cars don't have enough power to clear the doubles and triples at our the track we usually use, so you get a couple jumps in quick succession. Not fun to hold to much speed from one jump and still have air coming into the next jump. They're setup for a guy that races 450KTM's, so they aren't anything to sneeze at.

I want to say they were around $75. Can't remember exactly. Idk if he has anymore laying around, but maybe he could send you the CAD files and you could have a shop make them?

For that price might as well get bomb proof solid ones.

The ones that replace the stock rubber part? I've wanted to but been to apprehensive about the vibes I've heard about. The solid tranny mounts weren't bad, but the engine is a different matter...

it wouldn't fix anything, the part thats welded to the truck is busted, not the engine half.
