What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

On another note, i recently changed out the ugly stock green gauge lights for some cool blue LED's & found a use for the greenies on my side marker lamp plugs that have been unused since the blinker relocation MOD Monte.... at least I dont have to look at them on my dash anymore....




I need a better cam....

 

Looks good doug! How hard was it to switch them out with the led's?

 

Pretty sure the advertised 190 hp is not to the rear wheel. 157 hp sounds reasonable.

 

Hi Phil, long time dude... Oh yeah, its a pretty simple,straight forward process, just pop the dash plate out exposing the lights, unplug the old,plug in the new,re-install the dash plate,done...!!

I disagree..a manual tranny driveline on average only takes around 15%..that's only 13.5hp..not 33..

Now..if he is an auto..I can believe it more so as that's around 25% and upwards of 35% power loss depending..which 157 would make sense..

Just looked at his details says he has a urd short throw so he is a manual..33hp is a lot lost from a manual tranny.

Torque is very important for starts pulling and crawling..but I need more hp for cruising. Both are important

The guy is also on 32x11.5s so I bet that robbed it of like 5-10hp..but that still leaves like 10 hp just lost over time..which is also pretty possible I guess

That guy dyno'd at 4100 rpm too, so its hard to compare

Haha, sorry for the confusion. The 190 is adevertised flywheel hp. My numbers are at the wheels. Calculating a 15% loss though the driveline would be 161hp at the wheels. So I figure having 120k miles and larger tires that I am pretty close to where I thought it should be. I could go to a different dyno and probably get different numbers also. The main thing is that I have a baseline before I put the s/c on. Then I'll go back to the same place and see what the difference is.

 

Finished my tire carrier last night. Bonus points to whomever can guess what i used for the handle on the retaining bolt Ill paint it again when its warm enough to apply paint.

Installed two 6lz lights from Blitzpro for reverse/utility lights last night...

 

what is that a wheel cylinder? or a hammer head?

 

I guess its tough to see but its the end of a CV shaft.
