Ha tell me about it. Luckily my uncle is a really good home mechanic so I traded him my stock wheels for a rear main seal job (which kinda sucks because he would have done it for free but he had mentioned something about my wheels lol so why not? Beats paying for a shop to do it). We already got it back in but still have quite a bit of work to do. That MF'er was heavy!!

Maybe you need to take the truck for a nice drive, spend some quality time together, let it know you care.

Are you saying you noticed that in my picture or on your truck? Mine was dry as a bone. I'm replacing the rear main seal. It was leaking oil almost as fast as I put it in

We're e rear drive shaft comes out if the transfer case. I have oil dripping

Lol no on mine haha I'm asking if the rear main seal is right at the drive shaft. Saw oil on it today and am wondering if I should think about fixing it.

Oh ok haha and no the rear main seal is on the back on the engine where the transmission mounts. Seals around the crankshaft.

dumped the 285/75/16 b/c they looked weird, killed all the 2.7L power, and were way to wide for fenders. got BFG 265/75/16 instead.

Yessir. It's not bad at all... Pretty much the same set-up as the pinon seal at the other end of your drive shaft except easier since you don't have to worry about the crush sleeve... here's a writeup for the front output seal on a 4runner, but it's pretty much the exact same procedure--your seal/30mm flange nut may have a different part numbers though.

Hey guys, I have to replace the timing belt on my 3.4 tomorrow and am not looking foward to it... I've never dug this far into my engine bay, before. As far as getting the crank shaft pulley off, what have you guys seen work the best for keeping it from spinning? It seems a homeade spanner wrench with 3/8" prongs about 3 1/4" apart is pretty popluar.. (would rather not fab something up if Idon't have too though! :p) buddy of mine said an impact should take it right off. I've also seen people jam screwdrivers in the teeth of the flexplate ... What do you guys think is the best method and do have any tips for me? I found a few write-ups online and SafetyDangs youtube video that I'll be following...

Is it even possible to fit an impact gun in there to get the crankshaft pulley off?
