I'll take a few pics and send it to you but it will mate up and be flush with that slight curve on the fender that goes into the pillar. & for mine they're welded at. 60* angle to not interfere with wipers.. I have about 1/2" with wiper at full lock before it would hit so you can move the lights in or out on the mount itself as far as adjustment for proportion to the windshield

Cool man, I'd really like to get some lights mounted there. Would be a great spot for lighting up the front corners just past where the headlights shine.

And who knows, if I decide I don't like how they have to be welded on I might try to figure out some way of mounting them with a good adhesive or make a bracket so I can somehow bolt it on...

There's a bolt on for 2nd gens. I don't see why you couldn't make one for 1st gens.

I TIG daily so it would look good. Make them and I'll take some.

I tried and while it would work by the time I grinder enough material off for it to fold and work properly without completely cutting up the plastic cowl it took all the rigidy out of the mount. & tht was using 16 gauge so 3/16 would be stout enough but too thick to still work. Actually still have that bracket I made sitting on my kitchen counter. Ive got plans in place for a first gen bolt on bracket. Part will require welding allthough not a lot but still some
None the less but the welded section would be completely concealed if for some reason you removed the light and other section of the mount

I've seen some guys switch out the pre-2000 center console out with the Tacoma 00-04 center console, now my question:

Will any other center consoles work that are identical of the 00-04 Taco? I believe I've seen on here (somewhere unknown) that the Camry has the same center console??? Is this true?

Tacoma's are hell to find in pick n' pull junkyards....

Anything helps, I'm itchin to get this POS center console out of my 99' Taco

Yeah, My main issue is welding on the part of the fender that's visual... If the weld was tucked up inside where you couldn't see it I'd have no problem welding it.

Cando that too, just have to pull the fender and when I originally made these I did it just for the heck of it an didnt put a hole lot of time in install. Honestly once it's painted back over colormatched you can't tell the welds there. But if ou pull the fender and weld it from the inside that works fine but your left with the small gap on the outside that I'd rather not see too lol but I'd also do a gusset if I had the fender off on the inside somewhere while I was there.. If I ever pull mine I'll add one to each side

Screw you! Haha I'm gonna do the first bolt on bracket for you and if it works right and You and I both like it I'll start making them upon request.. Just a little welding required then but it will be hidden! That means you need to come hang out at the shop one Saturday so we can get this figured out! We can also pull your fender and do it from the inside so it's not visible and gusset it and see how well that works. Maybe once we get our line of light bars in at the shop, should be anyday soon!

Hmm, yeah. The idea of welding on the exterior part of the fender does scare me like it did everybody else. But I really want to have this! Haha

Wait, how long do you think it would be until you can get this figured out??? Haha I'd definitely not be worried about doing this if it was a hidden weld and then bolt on light mount! :D

It scares me too. but it looks really clean in person. the whole thing about grindin off perfectly good paint is what bothers me. Do you have a grille craft?

That's exactly my problem... My paint is still in great condition!

I don't have a grillcraft, I bought it from 03tacoman... I plan to change out the mesh eventually. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it over the stock grill, but once I saw it in person, I loved it!

Would be easy on you and Buzzard1992 truck since its black! If it were one of the reds colormatching would be a bitch but I just use plain ole white spray paint from wolly world and it matches fine!

As soon as Alex gets his ass up here to do it! Only thing im worried about with that method is placement cause then I have to worry about the wiper arms more.. Where as mine they just slide right under the mount. Most cutting you'd have to do for this is a slit in the plastic cowl for the bolt on section to go thru
