PC/PONE - Thanks, yeah it's all 3/16 plate. The mounting brackets to the recovery points are all out of one piece of 3/8" Bolted to the frame in three places each side and twice to the front 2"x3"x3/16" cross member we welded in up front. A cookie cutter kit sure woulda been nice to have! But i've got no interest on going in to production :)

Only took me an hour, surprisingly! I'm terrible with toolsso that's probably why but no special tools, just a drill or screwdriver and a10mm socket to remove the paneling and dash. You may want to grab a long andshort screwdriver for different areas. Once you pot the cluster out, you justtake the 4 green bulb holders out by twisting them and pop out the old lightsand replace with new then pop them back in! Just remember when that LED's workoff voltage polarity so check to make sure they work before you re-install. Ifthey don't work, just twist the green holders around and they shouldwork....that took me a bit to understand haha. You can find the lights here:

    http://www.superbrightleds.com/more...led-bulb-5-smd-led-wide-angle-wedge-base/206/

These were the best since they have the 360 degree bulbs. Let me know if you have any questions!

What do you get out of an air filter...serious question. I'm new to the whole upgrading process but do you get more HP or better gas mileage?!

So, they're replacing the seal all the way around for the leaky corners? I'm just wondering because mine leaks in the corners also (not badly, just enough so that I would be wary of putting anything that couldn't get wet anywhere near the edges). I was thinking that it might just be because the seal is dirty...we didn't make sure to wipe it down when we put it on and it came off of a truck with really messed up and dirty bed edges.

And your truck looks naked without it, by the way ;-)

Less stress on the engine and I guess like a 1/2 mpg and hp increase. Lol. It's just regular maintenance. Engine does not like breathing through a wall of dirt.

Mine has always leaked badly in the corners. They're going to try their best to reseal it well.

But if you look at the two side bed rails compared to the leading bed rail, they're of varying heights. So it's going to be tough to seal it well where they meet (in the front corners).

But I've read many folks here claiming theirs don't leak in the corners at all.

I do have to say, after driving around all day today with the topper off, I'm getting used to it and it's kind of growing on me. Just wish I had a proper/easy way of taking it on and off and storing it.

i replaced my weak ass shocks a couple months back.. sooo much better! I was sick and tired of holding that damn thing up!

I had the same leak due to the different heights but just filled it with some clear silicone and its water tight now :) you could also just double up the weatherstipping stuff to fill the void

Yeah it is very nice when those things work properly haha. The previous owner had installed ones that were 60lbs each. WAY too strong. I could barely shut it using both hands. Then I replaced them with 24lbs last summer and it's much better, but one failed over the winter. Oh well.

I can see they put two layers of seal on the front. One of the layers is actually adhered to my bed rails up there. Which pisses me off for some reason.

As for the rear corners, check this out: http://www.bajataco.com/camper/camper_seal/index.htm
