getting rid of chrome is in my trucks future for sure! I want to color match the grill surround, I already got a black bumper and will obviously still be black when I upgrade to a trail gear bumper, the chrome on the front bumper will be gone when I upgrade to a bruteforcefab hybrid bumper, and im gonna debadge.. just nervous to debadge because I know my paint had faded quite a bit...

also got no response earlier, but how do you guys do the flag mounts in the bed? its something I want to do in the future so I can fly the colors for the national holidays. I want to do something strong enough to fight the resistance of the flag grabbing the wind. also ideas on flagpoles?

When I get a tool box I am just going to mount an actual flag pole mount to it. But for today, I have this hole in the side of my bed liner and the bar that my flag is flying on slid right in. I'll get a picture of it. It was just fine at 35 mph but I wouldn't trust it going higher. That probably doesn't help you thou haha

I was thinking of find a way to mount something like this in the bed of the truck... only with a hole for the flag rather than a post to go inside the flagpole.

That's a good idea. I've had buddies who have filled those home depot painting jugs or whatever they are or the inards of an old tire with cement with a flag pole in the middle. Then when you want it, just throw it in the back with some tie downs and attach a flag. It works pretty well actually!

    Just had an Idea...

what if you had maybe a foot of tubing whether it be PVC (although id prefer something stronger) or metal tubing of some sort, and mounted it to the bedside or near the top of the bed up near the cab... and maybe drilled a hole sideways through it and the flagpole for a pin? I may have to talk to the local fab guy and see if hes got some metal tubing sitting around

hahaha there you go! I'd say go for it if you want a permanent pole back there. Liking the fishing pole idea! I was thinking of mounting something to my plastic bed liner or with this pvc pipe I have around to slide it between the bed and the cab in that little space.

not bad at all! I dont have any bed racks or anything to mount to like that so im just gonna go to the bed. what diameter is a usual flagpole? or maybe one that would be strong enough to hold a flag at say 60mph going down interstate? Thinking about calling up the guy that just mounted my sliders and having him make something for me.

well the pole would be removable, but the flagpole/fishing pole mount would be permanent. but wouldn't take up hardly any space.

You could probably fab something up so you could slide a linchpin or bigger pin with r clips in through the mount and pole to keep it secured. Securing the mount to the bed would be the hardest part.. Depending on the size of the flag, that is a LOT of stress going 60 mph. I'm curious though I'd like to have one too.
Edit: Just saw Bobert14's pictures of his setup. Something like that
