Busy truck day today. Started the amp install. Need to reinstall the driver seat tomorrow and pick up some velcro from Lowe's.

Ya, the F4. Got it in a crazy deal from a guy selling off his Taco. Paid half price. It's been sitting in the garage for about 6 months. Finally got through enough other projects to get to installing it.

Way overkill for what I want it for. Just powering some stock sized Polks with it. Wanted a smaller amp, like 25W or 50W but the deal was too good to pass up.

 

Its an amp I am considering for the door and rear panel speakers. I have a PDX-M6 for my sub. Very happy.

Which polks do you have? 5x7 components?

 

For Icon to put that label on... there must have been people who put the UCAs on the wrong side?

I'm looking into stepping up into 6.5" speakers. I have to do more research, particularly reading up on what Madjik_Man did. I think he installed 6.5s with some minor modification.

The amp is total overkill for me. I wanted a stand alone amp to increase the quality not the quantity but it was too good a deal to pass up.

 

That amp is a quality one. It will definitely improve things if you are pushing your polks now with just the HU amp.

I know the stock speakers in the '96-'97 are different from the '01-'04s. Not certain but I think the '98-'00 different from ours.

So far I have not been able to find pre-made speaker adapter rings to run 5.25" or 6.5" components in the doors.

 

Made and delivered/installed a satoshi on a fellow taco owners truck while he was away at boot camp, turned out pretty nice!

My nephew just got his truck finshed. We painted it for him and got it ready to drive for his first truck. on hte 5th day of school the guy following him didn't stop.

 

Damn I would have beat somebody's ass. Any frame damage

 

Damn, hope everyone is ok. On a lighter note....I see an aftermarket bumper in someones future...

 

Nobody was hurt and yes it has some frame damage, it is right at the back where the reciver hitch stops. one little bend over the rear axle on passenger side. We are looking for a bed now to repair it. Live in north East Texas if anyone can help.

 

Did you change the color of the needles or it just looks that way caus of how bright the LED's are?

I always use mine too but I never thought to eliminate the switch and have it always available. Good to know for my next switch install.

Centered my lights finally and aimed them:

 

No modification needed with the 6.5s

But if you didn't sound deaden the door panels you're doing yourself, and your sound system, a massive disservice.

 

I thought you had to drill some different holes and trim some plastic.

Yeah, that's part of why I've put off installing the amp. Read your write-up on the deadening and have to order the kit.

Probably going to get the amp physically mounted today and some of the wires run but hold off on actual connections until I can do the deadening.
