What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Probably jb weld steel sticks. There's enough of the ring exposed on the inside of the shroud that it should work.

Probably but I'd be worried about it letting off fumes after I seal it back up.

Yeah I figured if I was going to do it, I was going to do everything! I thought about swapping lenses but the ebay ones were easy to get apart and I've been running my stock ones while the others are apart.

 

So you have to put the halos on yourself? I figured they'd come on the shrouds

 

Any one ever seen sliders for a first gen with kick outs and kick ups? cant find any anywhere

 

Unfortunately not. They'd have to offer two different mini gatling gun shrouds, one with a way to mount them and one without since not everyone runs halos. Would be nice though!

 

Got some trim parts to fix some things that have borken over the years:

 

Most don't do both as the Kick up is on the outer bar. If you kick out the outer bar..then the kick up is like 6-8'' away from the bed.

If you get kickouts..you don't need kickups. Due to how big they flare out even if you rolled it the angle the kick out puts the bed at..you'll hit the cab first..ask me how i know..



I had BAMF Sliders for the roll over btw..still have em and still protecting me strong. Beat this piss out of them this last trip and i was SUPER glad to have the kick out on several occasions for pivot points.

Really a kick out provides more protection and use then a kick up does IMO anyways.

I figured was a waste to have both. I have found one picture of some with bith kick out and kick up. Looks kinda good. Seems like it would be better to be pushed away from a rock by the kickout

 

Yea on my trip this year, did that several times and it was very helpful.

Personally i think 8'' kickout Jerry does it is huge! But it matches my ridiculous offset perfect so im not complaining. Not sure how it would look with narrower tires and stance.

 

I have kickouts, but if I would have had kickups as well it would have kept a rock from gouging the side of my bed.

 

I'm surprised Jerry has jumped in on this.

Aren't the sliders he just built on his truck kickup/kickout. If I remeber reading correctly he took a regular set of his kickouts, and added a kickup.

No bueno in the rear diff! Had lots of water from pinion seal leak. All fixed now!
