It's amazing a Tacoma with a 3" lift and 32's has almost the same ground clearance as my Scout with a spring over and 37's. Spring over netted 7" lift on the binder.

I'll have to post a pic of them together when I have more time.

Well, I've actually owned both, but now I just have the Scout II

    Sweet set up.

My best friend had a 73 Scout II for a long time. 3", 33s, etc. Really nice set up. And it had that factory orange paint which is probably the most bomb proof paint I've ever known. Lord knows what it's made of

Thanks, this one's a 72. Had it for almost 18 years now. Love that thing but there's room in the stable for another steed so the Tacoma is next to be built.
I doubt it will see 37's, but I said that about the Scout when I started that build...33's will be plenty, yeah right..:D

Two interior panel screws and two screws that hold in the stock head unit mount. Not sure on the nut..

Pulling the carpet up would be faster than fish tape... It's too simple to peel back, and place it back in.

    Bone stock. For now.
My brother in law sells 'em. Buys and rebuilds them to stock-ish form. I don't know that he has any right now, but check him out:

Ok, pic in the driveway, sorry i have a deck and a privacy wall that prevent me from getting a full side on shot but I think you get the idea.
I measured from the ground to bottom of both frames in the center of the vehicles to get an idea. Obviously there is a substantial wheelbase difference and breakover points are different, but overall I don't think I would have any trouble finessing (or tromping) the Tacoma over the local trails. Tacoma has been down Green Ridge trail in stock form if any are familiar with that. Actually from the pics I've seen here, quite a few Tacoma's would probably outshine the Scout.
    Scout-21 1/2"
    Tacoma-21"

I have a new CKMA-12 High output air compressor coming my way. Debating whether or not to keep my co2 set up.

Nice! I didn't even notice they were Ivans at first. I have the same wheels and mine are ugly too because the last owner messed up the clear coat but they get Rock rash anyway. I'm thinking about using the aluminum plastidip of them eventually.

Out of curiosity...do your center caps push in or twist off?

I believe his name is the Tupper. He has a thread in I think the photo area. I'll look for a link later.

the CO2 will be hands down faster for airing up tires.

Id keep it for that..compressor for back up/air lockers.

It's his passion! He loves finding oddball cars, trucks, and SUV's (and sometimes vans) and rebuilding them and selling them off. He's had some sweet ass rigs in his shop! I can't tell you how many times I've been "this" close to buying up one of those Scouts!

Ya they're sick! I thought it was kinda odd he did a maverick! Most people wouldn't put money into them like that but it looks sick
