What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

is that a scangauge or ultragauge?

Ultra, I couldn't bring myself to buying a scangauge to much change because I am buying tires next

 

Just plugs into the OBDII port and you're good to go?

Or do you have to do some sort of calibration that involves a sundial, calculus III and being fluent in Latin?

just the obd port and your good as long as you don't have abs brakes then I heard it can mess with stuff and not work correctly

 

only thing you have to do if you want is calibrate it for bigger tires. Pretty easy to do though.

 

You just plug it in the scanner port and you put in your engine size and tank size and you are good to go, I only messed with it for about 30 mins so im not entirely sure what I have to do and what its capable of

Do you also have one? And how do you calibrate for bigger tires?

 

i reset the distance traveled, and then travel an exact known distance. I did mine on a 110 mile trip from gville to orlando. Then enter the distance into distance traveled and it should read the correct speed. i checked it with a speedo app on my phone.

 

I know there's a percentage that you change, and I think it's under actual distance travelled like 4banger4x4 said. My 33's equate for 7.7778% difference.

Both my cousin and his friend walked away safe my cousin has cuts and bruises on hands wrist and fore arms and his friend banged his head pretty good (passenger) They hit black ice on a bridge going 75 and rolled 7 times!

 

Found about a 3" chunk out of my BFG ATs tonight with the belt showing on the tread. Went around to about 6 tire shops and just got frustrated because no one will sell me just one tire..

Eventually put the spare on, but that was after I freed the seized wire that holds the spare underneath the truck!

Frustrating night. Now my truck has a spare and looks funny.

Eventually ordered a new tire.

Makes me feel safer seeing that though! Just shows that if I ever do get into a wreck that they are tough!

Can't believe nobody would sell you one tire!

 

Check Craigslist people sell one tire for cheap all day long.
