Driver side storage thing......What's that? I have a double cab. Would that be under the carpet behind the rear seats? I would go look myself, but it's dark and kinda chilly outside

yeah thats only on xcabs. There should still be a rubber grommet on the back of the cab on the drivers side. look in between the bed and cab and you should beable to easily see it.

I don't have a clue on the double cabs....

You do have one under your driver seat on the outside of the frame for sure though.

Hey thanks for the pictures! I only use the camper every now and then so i don't care if it hits it. Only care if i would have to remove the antenna or not. And I will look for that grommet tomorrow!

And Brent I know there's one under the passenger side because my carpet was always wet, and when I was investigating, I found the grommet just hanging in the hole. Wasn't seated at all! Didn't look under the driver side, but I assume there would be one there as well. And you just told me. haha

I have the firefly model, so it is fairly flexible without a spring

Here's a pic of it mounted with a shell. It doesn't come anywhere close to hitting it.

    Yup! Haha
x2 on this! Don't listen to the manufactures that say to get medium duty or light duty springs. I'm running a 4' Firefly antenna which is supposed to be very lightweight on a heavy duty spring and it works great.

It's 3'... I will probably get a spring if I whack it too hard on a tree. We will just have to wait and see. I don't want it waving all over the place on the road either.

Yeah otherwise you might come close to getting hit in the face with the antenna. Monte knows. :D
