What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Not going to swamp this thread with pics but you can read about putting a trail gear bumper into a concrete barrier at 60+ MPH in my build thread. If you want a dramatic rendition, read my letter to Trail-Gear posted here :

The side supports not only helped the integrity of the bumper, but helped distribute the blow on the frame. I took it into the collision center and they guy was baffled the frame was bent as little as it was (still very driveable). Then he saw the support legs and he was like "ohhh... I see." He said it probably saved your truck needing a tow and a brand new frame.

While I doubt you'll be slamming into any barriers anytime soon, keep in mind, if you slide into a rock and the weight of our truck bends the tube, you'll probably damage the fender and more than likely (depending on how bent it is) have to cut the tube off and weld on another

 

wasn't today but over the weekend.

Drove through a culvert. and wheeled in some of the best scenery around.

I'd sell you mine! Haha. I hate shipping things already coated though. The transport service doesn't give a shit about heavy packages and will drag them all over. I shipped one painted bumper and fedex managed to rip through cardboard and a fleece blanket I wrapped the bumper in. I liked that fleece blanket too!
