Haha I wish I could blame it on that. Clear coat is gone, paint is peeling on rocker panels from well.. Rocks haha

My hood is looking sad anymore with all the chips. The weather hasn't been kind over the past 18 years either.

That's a big maybe. Scheduled to finish and install the bed cage and rear shocks next weekend. If they're in on Saturday I'll be there Sunday!

The Monster lining is good stuff... I helped a local guy do his whole truck with it, came out awesome he was indigo blue before (2nd gen) now Monsterlined white... & the texture is not as course as Rhino liner, looks waaaay smoother & cleans up great but prep is as critical as surgeon prepping for an operation, needs to be absolutely clean

 

I'm probably gonna go with raptor liner but in any case, would you just add thinner or use a specific application method if you wanted to achieve a smooth/texture-free surface?

Ya know, I'd think thinner but I'm not sure if chris thinned it or with what if he did, think it just reduces to that texture by defult

I don't know what the deal is with the raptor liner stuff, but the monstaliner does not have any flakes of rubber or anything to give it texture. The foam rollers that are supplied are porous and produce the texture while you are rolling it on. If you just used a normal smooth foam roller the texture would be perfectly smooth because it's basically just paint. If the raptor stuff comes with the rubber flakes like most of them do than don't mix them in, if it already comes in the liner than pick a different brand that doesn't use something extra to create the texture. I wouldn't thin it though, you could, it would just make your life hell and would have a runny bedliner mess to deal with

 

From what I remember you adjust the pressure on your regulator to achieve whatever texture you want.

Heres how my floors turned out at 42psi. by far the best texture ive gotten so far for my preference. Im pretty sure the higher pressure you do the smoother it will come out. Im getting ready to do the bed of the 83 im building so ill play with the higher pressure and get back to you..
