Smoked decent amount when i did it, but just changed the oil and havent really driven it yet. On my next tank ill compare the mileage, but I honestly cant say if it made a difference yet.

Ha yea i swung it into my buddys shop and we were doing it and he screams like a girl, apparently the little guy likes the air box. Im guessing I picked him up on the farm I lived at this summer. Guess I shoulda checked my air filter sooner:eek:

Alright, heres the past 2 days of work.
I bought my taco off a old dude in AZ, who granny-car'd it the whole time he owned it.

Seafoamed the hell out of the engine. (3/4 in the booster intake ontop of the plennum just after the throttle body, 3/4 can in the gas, and 1/2 can in the oil)

After doing so it ran... Okay, but then it got worse gradually.

    SO:
    - changed the fuel filter (the OEM one was still on, and butt tons of mud-gas came out)
    - Changed all the plugs with fresh NGK BKR5EKB-11's
    - Changed the bank1 (upstream) O2 sensor with a Denso 234-4162 O2 Sensor (which is evidently OEM, but The stealership wants $150 for, and NAPA wanted $80. Go figure)
    - Changed the oil with Mobil1 and Toyota OEM filter
    - Cleaned every friggin nook and cranny in the throttle body
    - Cleaned the MAF sensor
    - Changed the air filter to a aFe Pro dry-S

The truck runs like a damn top now. It feels extremely responsive. (it felt like a slug pulling a brick the day after the seafoam)

    So, moral of the story:

Thank you all for the awesome write ups on how to do stuff, and all the well thought out posts in the How-To section.

And a big thanks to seafoam for cleaning out a metric ass-ton of carbon/gum/varnish/ and other garbage from my engine. (yes, i pulled the head, and it looked a hell of alot cleaner)

My truck got a little love today. :) Gonna be traveling a couple hours tomorrow so I washed it (was all muddy from trail run a week and a half ago), put some new Bosch wiper's on, and also finished my new front bumper and installed it as well. I've gone almost 2 months without a bumper, so its sure nice to see a bumper on the truck again!

Kind of a long story. Essentially I was trying to help out a younger guy and give him a deal on my 'used' bumper, then build myself a new one but it turned into a headache. The freight truck with it rolled over in Utah, and dumped all its freight onto the freeway. Needless to say the bumper was damaged a tad.
But yes, I did do a few slight changes and refinements to the design

with our trucks, we need to extend the frame out since the 01-04s have a stubby frame...no big deal since you already got a welder...i wouldn't bolt it on.
o and i gotta drill into the crossmember so i can bolt up my skids, since the tiny one that they bolted onto is gone now.

i might put plates over top, just on the wings tho...cause winch should be here monday :D
