I guess it's not just mine then. Were Taco frames longer at one point? Like '97-'00? When Scotty saw my frame, he had a big 'WTF?' look on his face. He said it was shorter than others he had seen. He quickly fabricated a new crossmember on the spot.

    Looks good BTW.:D

    yup it was welded on.

stock skids still work, you just gotta drill holes in the new xmember, since it replaces the old one.

    iirc 98-00 were ~3" longer.

Whenever I called him asking if I was doing it right, he said he worked on a truck from our "face" and he just extended the frame out with some 2x3 and drilled the crossmember for the skids...im guessing that was your truck haha

Interesting. Shorter to allow more room for crush in a collision?
    3" is a lot.

Yeah, that was probably my truck. haha

Possibly, idk but i know it damn sure aint coming off:D & i also will be plating a few spots on it to hide some things in the background but i havent had any issues with anything getting caught up in there...not sure about the top though especially once i get a winch.

Got any pics from the side to see how close it sits to the front end? I kinda wish mine was closer than it is...

That was my biggest complaint the first day when it was just bolted up before i choped it but i got it about where yours is now...even with the front of the fender flare

Thats about as good as i got from the side

    Edit: Found one
    [IMG]

M3bassman: i would possibly look into doing the top once the winch is on but i mainly just want to do the triangle spots on each side of the winch plate...off topic but damn am i glad i got those bug eye'd lights off the bumper!

Thanks. The frame length issue is confusing the hell out of me. :goingcrazy:

I was wanting some better approach angles, but I guess larger tires and SAS will help with that.:D
