What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

So many people hate this mod, Like I said its a temporary fix until I get my leafs. AAL makes the truck ride horrible, I have ran this on my 4runner on some of the roughest trails around here and its done fine. At full droop the coil is still tight. It won't come out unless compressed the same way it went in. Rides like a dream.....

 

On the OTRATTW switches ?

Yes. They are carling type, same as daystar rockers too. OTRATTW just has the fancy plates but they are normal carling switches still.

i am thinking about making one to hold a few off to the side of the ash tray for people (like me too) that have a CB there and want more switches.

 

Most of their switches aren't just the common power and ground....

This is the diagram for my switches. Independent lower LED, dependent upper LED.

 

Yeah I wired up some winch controls for another members truck with independent LEDs it was quite fun

 

iIt was easy once I finally understood what each pin was for. Honestly my favorite wiring job haha

 

What are you guys tapping for the dash lights?

 

I used the wire to the bulb that's in the change holder. I removed the change holder and put my cb there, so the wire was in a perfect spot to route to the switches.

You might not have a light in your generation Tacoma, so if not I'd tap into the shifter light.

I used the power to the factory clock since I took it out and put my switches there.

 

Nice, I'll be doing that whenever I do finally wire my winch switches there.

 

It has two 12v+ going to it...be sure to use the one that is only on when you turn your dash lights on lol. Unless you don't mind your switches being lit up without your other dash lights.

 

Yeah, one to keep it's memory and one to turn on the LEDs I'm guessing? Haha
