how do you guys keep your trucks rust free that have salted roads?

 

It doesn't normally snow enough here to require salt, but this last storm was not normal.

I think rust and salt go hand in hand, no way around it.

 

has anybody installed led lights into their map light? My map light just burned out and I want to have brighter light back there and when i took it out i noticed its just a single bulb.

 

Are you talking about the dome light?

 

Filled up my tank and realized I should use my families membership at the Safeway gas station more often. 30 cent discount per gallon

Also realized I can pro-deal GoPro cameras. I get the HD Hero 2 for $150 bucks

One of the previous owners of my truck did some type of undercoating on the entire underside of the truck, seems to have worked well, might be plastidip?

 

thats one reason i dont wash the truck anymore

Spray your whole undercarriage with fluid film.

 

A combination of a steering wheel wobble while going over a few consecutive bumps and a pre-alignment inspection led me to discovering the wheel bearing was loose. The wobbling hub then chewed up the seal, puking grease inside the brake rotor.

I forgot to mention that I also had the truck in 4WD today for the first time doing a tight parking maneuver. I backed out of a spot, cranked the wheel and the truck bogged before chirping the tires. I thought I backed into something. That will definitely take some getting used to.

ya get one from an autostore (autozone) it has a wire that goes to the bulb that you just put in old spot. when you get the kit it is very self explainitory you will see..mine also just stick taped up in the light compartment. i have a 1st gen so i think only the smaller version will fit but i dont know. def worth the $.

 

I'm about to upgrade my winch just for you Monte.

 

Haven't done much. Just Duratec tires. Owned the truck since 2002 and I have had to replace the U Joint and needed new front brakes. It has 150,000 miles and I haven't treated it too well, but it still looks and rides great.

Oh yeah, when I bought it used it had a bad scratch on the rear side of the truck so I bought the TRD stickers for 75 bucks and covered it up. haha.

Any suggestions on some modifications. I got my commuter car paid off and want to blow some money on my truck.

 

Spent last evening at the garage installing my bumper. The new crossmember was about 1/8" too narrow to fit around the frame so we had to grind a little bit and use a BFH. Came out pretty good, I think, I still have to trim some fender liner that is hanging down.

 

Oops. I um...uh...
