Dang.. Over the weekend my engine randomly cut out on me while I was waiting for a light. It was idling fine then just cut out on me. But it started up fine right after.

Now it starts right up but then dies like 5-10seconds later

edit: Derp I left the intake tube detached lmao.. Man I was like wtf..

If that really is a 1/3 smaller than stock, it might actual be possible to get it in and out without to much trouble. Standing by for more info.

I'll post back when I get the old one off. Just eyeballing it I'm not really sure it is any smaller. Also I wish they published a spec sheet for the MG starter. I'm wondering what the actual torque and spin rate and battery load will be. Some others on TW have the same starter and seemed to be pretty impressed with it.

Installed the @CBI Offroad Fab drivers side antenna mount (same as the ditch light mount).

Instructions were perfect from the website.

    1.5hr solo.

Hardest part was pulling the fender back far enough to reach the hood hinge bolts.

Any details about rebuilding it yourself? Like which contacts and plunger to replace it with. I have just rebuild mine when every they go bad. $7 is way better that $200-300 for a new starter.

Mine is actually working fine I think. It just seems to be a bit gutless in the winter. I getting an AGM battery and HO alternator which I hope will beat it.

Also I'm having occasional warm start issues which are probably more related to a fuel line problem. Tracking down a warm start issue is a bit of a rabbit hole I'm finding.

First of all, disconnect the negative plug of your battery, you don't want a short when your starter fall off the place and make contact with the frame.
Once you remove the two bolts, discnnet the wirings, remove the dipstick ( just pull), loose the brake line bracket that is in the way and pull it backwards. You must flip the starter to clear the manifold and the upper control arm.

I think it's safe to say you just dropped about 10 lbs.
Wait, people live in Arkansas?
Where can I find one of these?

Well I modified my snorkel tubing, and it is still sucking itself shut... Time to go to my plan C, which will be very tedious.
