thats why you don't move the cams at all when removing the belt.

Whats your trick to getting the belt on? Do you remove the center idler?

I removed the tensioner. It required un bolting the AC compressor to get to one of the bolts but it made changing the belt a breeze.

Oh i see, i was told not to remove the tensioner fully because you would need a press to push the pin back in. So i just backed it off untill it was holding by one thread. I guess that would have made it easier

if you have a vice it is easy. Just compress the little piston and insert a small pin in the hole on the side to hold it in place.

After installing the tensioner simply pull the pin out and the tension is set.

I installed a new tensioner. I figured at 155K miles it made sense to replace just about everything under there. There is a nice kit on Amazon that has all the pieces, high quality, too, from TBK:

Yeah, honestly, the ones I pulled out seemed "like new" to me. I almost felt bad pulling them and the water pump off.

Same thing I did. Getting to the bolts for that was not pleasant.

Just changed my oil and spark plugs. Pretty sure it made a difference in how the engine runs.

so far this break I have rebuilt my coilovers, replaced my LCA's, replaced the bushings in the new-to-me LCA's, replaced my lower ball joints, replaced a upper balljoint, replaced a wheel bearing, replaced a water pump, flushed the radiator and washed it, replaced the spark plugs, replaced the oil, got the alignment done. Have a couple pulleys on their way and need to order a new steering pump and rear axle then I'll be good to go.

Now I just have to get a tie down system set up.
    Going this route: http://www.uscargocontrol.com/Ratchet-Straps-Tie-Downs/Airline-Straps-Hardware

With a couple of these boxes:
    http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/new-us-military-storage-container.aspx?a=558440

I'll have a place to put extra fluids, parts, recovery gear, etc.

haha yea...the mud is a nightmare on the pulleys and other rotating stuff. The biggest problem is I live on gravel roads and watch way to many desert racing videos. And living on a farm doesn't help. The pickup is just another tool to get crap done with haha.
