is the plate curved like that or did that happen from over tightening the bolts?

I do like the auto wheeling and its not to bad on the road even though id prefer a manual. What i really dont like is the fact i can choose what gear im in to keep it from the unnecessary downshifts.

HMM i hope they are not over tighten but i believe from the sides being curved and the pic angle give an illusion

Agreed. I guess they have never mountain biked, either...
Thinking and feeling and anticipating are all a part of the fun. Nothing funner than a 5-speed plus J stick. Driving versus site-seeing.

heavy duty u-bolts, hardened u-bolt nuts and washers, and heavy duty CAD-plated u-bolt plates

Does not say the metal type used. were they heavy or light?

Easy to check. See if a magnet sticks to it.

all pro would never make that out of aluminum... and i do believe it is the curved cut of the part that makes it appear bent (illusion) although i have seen people crush axle housings from over tightening...

also isnt that bump kinda big? doesn't that limit up travel?

It does limit up travel ^ but allows the use of longer shocks for additional down travel.

I love my manual with j shift. But if I could have a dream mod it would be one of those semiautomatic transmissions. The ones that you can shift like a manual or drive like a automatic. But then I would have to worry about my girlfriend wanting to drive my truck. (she's not that good with anything bigger than a beetle)

I wouldn't say better in a manual on hills, cause you can still put it in 1st or 2nd on the auto.

Need help identifying some wires/harnesses please. I ask because I'm trying to hook up dimmable illumination to my switch backs (built by @skygear) and need to know what to tap into. I do not have a clock or wires that go to it (that I know of) and I do not have an ashtray light bulb or wires that go to it.

Here are things that I've found under my lower dash.

#1. This is located just under the steering column (you can see it in the background). This wire harness has two wires going into it. Blue with yellow stripe and red with black stripe. 3+ years ago two people told me two different things, with no confirmation: Could be the wiring for the clock, could be the wiring for the factory alarm system. Two things that are not equipped in my truck.

#2. This is located behind/below the dimmer knob/clutch cancel/rear locker switch area. This wire harness is literally just hanging there. It has three wires connected to it. Yellow with green stripe, green with red stripe and yellow with black stripe.

    FullSizeRender2_zpsfnbkvdsy_c494a86d982707b93d7e951e9edb90f48f0a3f90.jpg

#3. These are the wires that are leading to the back of the dimmer switch. At least as far as I can tell. There are a couple of other plastic housing between the back of the knob and these wires. As far as I can tell the wires are yellow with green stripe, yellow with black stripe, and possible two more that I can't really see.

    FullSizeRender3_zps1v3pehn5_1d8c797cd70674f8684fa6faf4b9cbbd0d5bdf3c.jpg

I attached the wiring diagram (46 pages) for my truck. I honestly don't even know where to begin to decipher this thing.

    Any help is appreciated.
