What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

If anyone is interested in longer wheel studs. The Dorman #610-463 that @jberry813 suggested. I found them the cheapest on RockAuto. For 1.56 a stud in 10 packs. With shipping to me and the TW discount it was 53.81 for 30 of them. Figure I throw this out there.

What kind and length of screws did you use to mount the quickfists?

Somebody posted a pic of some superbright LEDs for the front corners. I think it was on eBay. Anybody remember?

2" length and 3/16" butterfly and permanent loctite.

 

Went to my local off-road shop. Putting 5100 all around and trying to achieve 2" of lift. Putting a AAL for the rear as well. The price he quoted me was $1,000. The 5100 with AAL all in total is $450. Seeing if anyone could notify me if this is a good deal?

Me and my dad put 5100s on all around in our garage, and neither of us are mechanics or anything

 

I know changing out the shocks won't be hard but what about putting the AAL and raising the shocks?

 

Uh depends on what you're getting, just the shocks, you need to take out the old springs and put them on the new shock using a spring compressor. Rear shocks just bolt up and I think AAL should come with instructions. But googling should work for both

 

I got OME shocks all the way around as well as coils and dakars for 1150 shipped.. that will be about 2.5" of lift and a way better ride both on and off road than billies..

Changing out front shocks and coils is more work than the leaf packs. There are vids on youtube and TW that show you how to do your front suspension, minus a spring compressor of course, you can just use the weight of your vehicle to compress the spring safely. All it takes is a jack...

 

I was trying to find coils that would give me 2" of lift instead of 3" thanks. But I will think about the shocks though

 

Research OME. They have a first gen coil (I believe it's the 880) that nets 2" of lift. Do some research on the interwebs and TW... lots of info for the taking!

 

It's 881 for 2-2.5" of lift with the front coils. Someone messaged me for all around 5100 shocks for $320

 

You really need to flex it out to be certain of the situation. Do you have access to a forklift? Do something like this.
