    To reiterate what Brett said, it's better to be safe than sorry. How much/hard you wheel it is also a factor. Now I'm questioning if reusing stock bumps is the best choice...

    I've noticed stock bump stops are about 3-4" too short from hitting the pad after a lift. But that's just a glance, never really stuck a tape on it.
    My plan is basically to mount a single stud bump stop on the frame pad and have it contact the stock bump stop on the springs.
    May or may not be optimal that way. There are other styles that mimic the mounting of the stock pads, so that may be better if one can be found tall enough.
    Every time I'm at full compression I get pics of everything but neglect to take a simple look at the stops and the distance between them.:p

    My girlfriend had the nerve to bring up the idea. Of trading my 2001 tacoma for a 2016 tacoma. I got in my truck and started yelling No!!!!! Repeatedly as I drove off to work. Lol

    Something like this is what I am looking at to mount on the frame pad.
    4 1/2" tall

    I Wouldn't Even Bother. You have Dakar's in the pic right? And stock billies????? Either way, I'd bet you would never come close to hitting stock bumps to the frame pad with your setup. I'd say leave it. Doesn't hurt anything... like BDN said, you have to get much much longer bumps to make them functional when lifting. Mine are huge and I needed to space them by 2 in

    Do you need to swap out the lower bump stops or just the upper ones?
    lol... I have Dakars and OME nitrosports. The stock Billies were still in the pic because we hadn't swapped them yet.

    On a side note... those stock Billies, along with the rest of the stock suspension, had 180,000 miles on them when they were removed. :anonymous:

    Developed a thud while turning right and braking. Looks like steering rack bushings are shot. Lifted wheels off ground and checked over front end and couldnt feel any play so im guessing those bushings are the culprits.

    Monte is running superbumps from wheelers but it looks like they are designed for stock, non-flipped u-bolts. I'm not sure about other brands.

    You wouldn't normally need taller bumps in the front unless you are running one of the top place spacer lifts. They move the shock down potentially making the shock too long. The rear is where extended bumps are most commonly used.

    That fit between the panels of bed side? seems really thin and small for that big of a bolt!

    I used self tapping screws on mine but that butterfly looks like a better way to go, as the sheet metal is rather thin. I may change to this when mine pull out.
