Yesterday count? ;) Installed a fairing in front of my rack, hoping to get my mileage up a bit on the freeway, plus I can feel the drag and the noise is down

I've done a mod or two
Whelp, I tried to go get my truck aligned.... after replacing so many front end parts (UBJs, LBJs, CVs, manual hub seals, calipers, rotors, and pads) it is like a kick in the groin to hear Lenny lube tech say "Sorry sir we can't align it because your inner tie rod is loose *shit eating grin* we can replace it for $265." Well ol' Zane has already felt his tie rods and knows that's not very likely. However there may be some truth to the story as I am already aware there is some play in the rack guide which to a tech may feel like a loose inner tie rod. So now I am tracking down the rack guide parts, it has gotten looser since the last time I checked it and definitely needs something done.

Hopefully after that I can get it aligned, but right now it is driving easier than it ever has, no brakes dragging, no hubs locked in. It's pretty nice even without the properly aimed wheels.

    Not that good :(
With 4.88's and 34's I'm hoping for 18 mpg with no traffic or mountain passes and I keep it around 70 mph/2800 rpm's

Had the same thing happen to me. So I pulled off the old tie rods and replaced them(they were old, but no slop) and still had some play. Turned out to be the rack guide. It was a super simple fix once I got the parts. Took like 10 minutes.

Mine have been holding an alignment, but after changing all those parts I'd like to make sure I'm still trued up. Plus fix the camber issue I have on the passenger side. I wiggled the shit out of everything on and off jacks and without the ITRE boots on and the rack shaft (on the driver's side) is the only piece that is moving when it shouldn't. It is moving up and down which it shouldn't be doing plus that explains the clunk I have on small bumps. I hope I don't have to change my ITREs but if I do at least I will have eliminated the simple thing first.

When did you change yours and what were the symptoms that something was wrong?

That sucks, that's why I'm only going with a 2" lift and 32s on my truck. Gotta keep that racing truck heritage. And that's a lot of rpm's at 70. My auto reaches 2250 rpm's when I hit 70.

As I'd imagine some of you saw: I exploded my arse end on the trail last weekend, on the last day of a 3 week wheeling / camping trip. I cannot thank @jberry813 enough for rescuing my pile with his fancy tow rig and his time/help getting 'er moving again. And also @RelentlessFab for being nice enough to let us use his shop and lend a hand when needed. Hats off to those folks - No way I'd have made it home without that generosity.

The result was the extremely limited edition FWD tacoma, which made it without a hitch to my house, and uh.... featured some spirited driving along the way. My pile then sat in the driveway for the last week, during which I was relegated to driving a ferd to work. Well, life's too short to not enjoy the car you're driving to work, so yesterday I deleted the FWD mod.

Thankfully @EL ROJO is going full racetruck, and he and @DTFtacoma were stripping his rig, so I was able to pick up his complete rear axle / front clam sunday night. So I swapped the rear over yesterday. I swear the most time-consuming part was just fishing out all of the metal shards from the housing. Would have been a lot easier if I wasn't still SOA, or Cory's axle wasn't setup for SUA. In any rate, enough text. Here's a pic:

    IMG_2855 copy

The best part about all of that, is that I've finally got 4.56's in my pile, which are perfect for my setup (3.4 + standard + 33x10.5r15). The truck's a torquey bugger again, and quite frankly is a hell of a lot more fun to drive. I'm at three grand at GPS'd 75 mph, which is perfect. Can't wait to test out the proper 1st gear in the rocks. 4.10's sucked so bad.

Still need to swap the front clam, which I'll hopefully have time to do this weekend. I also need to figure out the right speedo gear. Anyone have a part number? Currently reads 85 at gps'd 75, but that's with the gear I used to correct with 33's and 4.10s.

New here. I decided to create an account and share a bit. Just ordered a set of 31" KO2 tires from Costco today. Last night I installed a new Pioneer stereo. The sound is incomparable to the old Sony stereo. Put in a magnetic mount for my phone as well the day before. I am excited to see how it rides when the new tires are on. Don't have much experience when it comes to modding vehicles but am learning. I love my Tacoma. Just bought it from a guy off craigslist a couple months ago.
Some other things I have done are, took off rusty grille guard, freshened front bumper with heat gun, replaced turn signal lights so they match now, broke the only cable left to the tailgate while loading/unloading dirtbikes.

This is what it looked like the day I got it. Nothing much, I know... I couldn't help but share my Tacoma since I've been looking on this forum since I got it.

Will post more pictures and keep things up to date when I can. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks! This is perfect. IIRC 30t is stock and I swapped in the 28th. I believe I need the 32t, but I need to do math, which is hard. And walk out to the garage to count the stock one.
