With my stock UCA, I couldn't turn the wheel much more than a 1/4 turn before I was rubbing very hard on the inner fender well, hence the need to go with an aftermarket setup.

Got my cb radio and PA speaker in the mail today, then went out and installed/wired it up. Haven't decided on an antenna yet so it only works as a pa for now.image.jpg

With the caster that much did you need to do the pinch weld mod?

Maybe the ones on my headers are mild too.
Sorry meant to say use ceramic paint. It is the only stuff that stays on. Everything else burns off in 15 mins

Hmmmm i was considering using high heat header paint. Any reason ceramic would be better than the high heat stuff?

I bought a stainless one for $26. Turned out it was a waste of money because I didn't use stainless pipe like I originally intended.

Thanks.. already got confirmation of my order shipping. Now do I want to order the stainless one as well... decisions decisions.

Any one care to weigh in on whether the longevity will be affected by welding the mild steel flange onto my stainless pipe vs. welding on a stainless flange?

Don't go out of you way to get me those pictures, but I'm still doubtful.

When increasing castor by using the LCA cams, you move the bottom of the spindle forward, and increase firewall clearance. By increasing castor using UCAs, you move the top of the spindle back, decreasing clearance to the firewall. It doesn't make sense that you rubbed the firewall with stock UCAs and not with the LR, but I'm guessing it has to do with the overall alignment of the LCA cams and the rubbing your talking about at ride height.

See above. More castor does not always equal more clearance.

I run 295/75s, stock UCAs, and currently have 0* castor. I've cut off the entirety of the pinch weld, and hammered the firewall back a couple inches. If were to install aftermarket UCAs today, I would most likely have to tub.

It gets really hot near the cat so you need to use the ceramic stuff. But who cares now since there is a stainless one.

The flanges are the first thing to rust on any system, except all the Borla systems I've had. But you pay for it of course. I would go stainless if you see salt. My truck doesn't see salt so I cheaped out and didn't complete my system in stainless.

    :anonymous:you're right.

Looks like I'll order the stainless one and throw away the mild steel one that already shipped.

I weld mild on ss all the time. My stuff never sees water or snow so I'm a bad example. I even have mild steel turbo header pipes which everyone tells me they should crack. Year later no cracks still. But with ss and as you should use ss wire and I think you need to use 100 percent argon. I'm too lazy to get a different tank to do a simple job.

i see. I have LR UCAs right now. My castor is just set to factory. 2* I think? I plan to move up to 285/75r16 in the future and guess I'll just stick with pinch weld mod.
