It's less Tacoma and more mod
I always thought they looked sorta like galvanized metal, even though they definitely aren't. Reminds me that I should recheck my LBJ bolts for torque though.

They 10.9 which is supposed to be equivalent to grade 8 sae. They aren't aluminum, I don't know what they are coated in but there are different ways to zinc/galvanize fasteners.

Yeah I would go faster but I make a 450 mile round trip two weekends a month. That money saved adds up fast! 65 only uses around 1/2 tank 1 way where faster uses 3/4 + of a tank.

Wow! I'm lucky to get around 200 miles on an entire tank! Usually going 70 or so.

My highest tank is 400 miles but that was me going 55-60 at times because I was running out of gas towards the end before I found a gas station. The light only came on a few miles before I got to the station too so I could've gone further haha

Though now my commute is only 3 miles so a tank will last a few weeks.

Opinions on tailgate nets? I just ordered one because my tailgate is in rough shape. Dented, scratched, bullet holes.. You know how it goes

My motorcycle is my DD and truck is for that long trip, to get groceries, and mountain outings. But using my bike for a 2 mile commute to class and filling that up 1 every 3 weeks for $12 helps a lot

Got my ex500 for $1400 two years ago from a car dealership. They put it on craigslist because they don't like bikes on their lot. I was the first out of 20 to call. Bought it. Couldn't ask for a better deal at the time.

That's what my old commute was like but even clear freeway driving not loaded down I still got about the same mpgs. I decided to say fuck them and put a front and rear bumpers and big ol tirs!

While we are off topic. I had an ex500 loved it. An amazing death trap speed wobbles like hell and big rigs push you into the next lane with their wind

I'm getting 16-17 with 265s with skid, sliders and RTT. It'll be down a little when I get my bumper on

Oh especially when there is a passenger and there is a big rig. Hello other lanes.
But yeah great bike, absolutely love it. Wish it was a bit more comfy for longer rides however
