How much frame rub are we talking without the spacers?

I would rather live with a bit of rub then destroy a set of wheel bearings ever 10k miles.

A quarter turn of the steering wheel or so... (Would be more if I get mud terrains in the future) And I think I'm going to have to use spacers regardless since the wheels I'm getting are soft 8's (which typically don't clear the brake caliper on our trucks.... :D) lol

Which is another reason I switched from 2.5" backspacing to 3.5" backspacing--I figured I'd probably have to use some sort of spacer

I might just use a 1/4" since I already have some ET lugs nuts... :notsure: would rather not though.

So the wheels are 15's? I guess if you gotta run spacers go for it. My 255's rubbed the frame like crazy though but I got used to it, just don't turn all the way

I'm not sure on this because back spacing confuses me but what if you get a wheel with 3.75" back spacing and then get the 1.25" spidertracs

Oh okay, I didn't know the soft 8's had problems clearing the calipers on the larger sizes.

I actually ordered the wheels a couple months ago..... but what your saying is a good idea.

Do you guys think it's ok to run the 1/4" spacers up front if I use ET lugs? I would never run them with regular lugs nuts, that's for sure....

usually they hit the area with the windows. Supposedly the D-windows clear just fine but the soft 8's have issues.

I did it tight enough that it doesn't move around when i drive. but if you grip it hard and twist you can move it a little.

my cragars with 4" bs used to hit. When i put the spacer on there was imo not enough room on the studs. That can only be resolved with longer studs. (i belive that running rear studs in the front will give u enough stud). However i didn't want spacers and i didn't want to grind the brakes. (for the main reason what happens if i need to replace a caliper in the middle of a trip) Sooo my solution i ground half of the dimple of the back of each of the 8 holes. Took 15 mins a wheel and viola! No rubbing,no spacers. And they balance just peachy (for 12.5inch wide mud terrain) Only took you need is an angle grinder with a flap wheel and some paint.
